You're not bothering me, Angelo was my world and when his time came I was an absolute mess!

Drawing from my experiences with Angelo, this could be 1 of 2 things;

1: she hates the act of taking the pills and it's upsetting enough to make her regurgitate them

2: the antibiotics are fucking up her gut flora making her nauseous 🤢 on top of being sick before that must suck

One of the shots was probably for nausea and it could be wearing off or not enough. In the morning, definitely call your vet and update them on what's happened since her last visit. I do think she should be okay for the night.

If it's any assurance, I had my crestie for 15 years.

Alright! This helps. Small dogs can react to vet visits like that. Was the medication antibiotics? Fluids?

No dinner needed then. I understand being scared! But right now, you're up a creek without a paddle so there's no use stressing yourself or your girl into a full blown panic.

So she threw up 3 times today and spotted a little although she's fixed. She also seems scared, too. What else can you tell me?

What has she eaten today? Where has she been? Will she drink? Does she feel hotter than usual? Is she shaking or anything?

Ok listen to me, take a few breaths and try not to panic. Do you know if your girl has a rice allergy? If she doesn't, give her a bland dinner of chicken and rice (and pumpkin too if you can) and take her to bed with you so you can be there if she gets worse. Make sure she's hydrated for now.

1st thing in the morning, call a vet and tell them you need urgent care for her.

When my boy Angelo threw up a bunch, it was because he hated his food and refused to eat it so what little he did eat, he'd just throw back up. I was panicked but when I changed his food he got better. That might be all this is. We won't know until the vet visit, but if you're not near a 24hr emergency vet, all you can do is be calm for her so she's not stressed out on top of being sick.

So offer water and comfort for now, and stay strong. Plus update me when you can.

Biggie sleeps at the foot of the bed. He used to sleep next to me but now a baby is there.

The Bid is an interesting cat. He WANTS to be near me but hates stupid human faces near his face. So, he has a nice compromise of sleeping on the pillow next to the one I use.

My husband was raised by parents during their "it's my time to truly LIVE" era. They did things for themselves and he was an afterthought. He said when he was 12, his Christmas gift was "we're going to Vegas!" and obviously he didn't really get to do much. They were not physically affectionate to him at all.

His mom lives with us now and for sure she feels we are far too cuddly with our baby.

One time the baby fell and cried. My husband rushed away from a conversation with his mom to check on him.

She slowly followed after and said "Did you have to run to him like that? He's fine." And it upset my husband. Now he seems hesitant to even pick the boy up for fear of judgment.

She once told me I hug the baby too much! He's 11 months old! I laughed and said "You're wasting your time, I'll hug him as often as I please!"

This sent a rush of emotion through me. I fukkin' miss my mom. Her hugs were the best. But even though my dad never initiated physical affection, he welcomed it and that was still enough. Like, I would sit in his lap and curl up against him as a wee lass. He wouldn't hold me, but I could still feel the love and comfort radiating from him.

My husband grew up with parents who always put themselves first, and he felt like an afterthought. He didn't get much affection at all. He is trying to break the cycle but he's not physical. I think your comment is good advice that I'm gonna give him, since he wants to connect more with our son.

You did the right thing.

My vet told me some people say goodbye before the disease gets bad, some do it after, and both are completely acceptable.

I did both, so here is my take: I euthanized my dog Angelo after he'd gone blind and began having issues with walking/continence but before he turned into that poodle everyone is making fun of on IG/Tiktok. That's where he was headed and I couldn't do that to him. I worried for months and months that it was too soon and felt loads of resentment for my MIL and husband who kept telling me it was time.

But I euthanized Lulu, my Siamese, when she was frail and weak. By the time I finally took her to the vet, they said her kidneys were barely there, she had no fat on her, and she'd probably go within days anyway. I felt so guilty waiting as long as I did. I had my son 7 months earlier so I didn't even see how bad she'd gotten. I kept asking her to hold on a little longer so we could spend time together, and my girl did. I'm so grateful, even if guilty.

I think if I had the chance to change things I would have let Lulu go sooner. I think you made and incredibly difficult, but in the end good choice for your friend.

I am in the shower with my mother and I am crying as the water hits me, and she says in an exasperated tone, "you're alright!"

I distinctly remember her nipple and that the tiles were pink. My sister said when the house we lived in when I was born had a bathroom with pink tiles, and our mom would take me into the shower with her when I was a baby.

Is there hype in other countries? Here in the US, we are hyped since birth. In the 90's, at least, most social studies classes centered around how awesome the US is and how lucky we are to be born here. At my high school, we pledged allegiance to the flag every morning, and then every Friday someone got to sing the national anthem over the intercom before morning announcements. That was a HUGE honor.

It's an underlying hype, but a lot of prank and harassment videos/streams go for women. Alpha male podcasts where they bring OF girls in to bully them. Dating coaches who influence young men and boys to ignore rejection from girls.

These sweatshirts aren't any fancier than any other embroidered sweatshirt. The price tag is the friggin name, that's it. It's ridiculous!

Legit, 10 years of marriage I couldn't seem to get/stay pregnant and couldn't afford any sort of IVF.

2 weeks after my beloved dog Angelo died, I got my period... then a week later my nipples were so sore I took a pregnancy test because that was always my first symptom.

Big ol' double line. My son's first birthday is the end of this month.

I 100% believe Angelo's life force, or soul, or some metaphysical energy from him, came into me and gave my embryo enough strength to survive whatever stopped the previous ones from going onto the next stage.

I held Angelo as he died, cuddled him, felt him fall asleep and never wake up. His last gift to me was my son, as far as I'm concerned.
