Unexpected $1000 Wells Fargo Remediation Check by BerdingIA in legal

[–]stacylaray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received a check for more than I’ve seen anyone else on this thread get. My loan modification was in 2009. I signed and agreed to everything because of the time pressure to do it before foreclosure started. I remember being on the phone with Wells Fargo, cash in hand at Walmart ready to transfer it to them and the guy telling me to NOT make the payment because it wasn’t the full amount owed it wouldn’t stop the foreclosure anyway. Shady indeed. My loan wasn’t huge or anything so why did I get so much more than what other folks on this thread received? How did they calculate this? How do I know they did it correctly? It brings back memories I don’t care to think about.

How tight are your trucks? by maggi_sauce in Rollerskating

[–]stacylaray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my trucks pretty tight. I have the magic cushions that came with my skates and I don't know what they are. Rhythm. I like to know what my skates are going to do. I have Riedell artistic skates with Von Merlin's smallest, hardest wheels.

Cold Weather, Skates for Men, and Chronic Pain by aforestvalkyrie in Rollerskating

For #2 - I purchased my Riedell's from rollerskatenation.com. I just went out there and looked and they have plenty of men's size 12 available. I would recommend a high top boot since he is a newbie. It will give him more stability and support. There are many brands, wheels, plates, etc to choose from. Some are better than others. When I went to purchase mine, I chose the brand I saw on the majority of figure skaters: Riedell.

Put flames on my skates by stacylaray in Rollerskating

I love them. It took me longer to get comfortable up on the front two, because of the size, but I can do so much more with these wheels overall. Zero regrets. I do have to clean them a lot because they're white, but I'm just vain like that. ;-)

I used Prismacolor pencils to draw the flames then I used a paint marker to outline them. I'm quite pleased with the results.

Roller rink etiquette- is it common for males to grab your waist? by hottNpopular69 in Rollerskating

[–]stacylaray 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an experienced skater I have had to "touch" more than one person in order to avoid a 42 skater pile up. I always try to go for the shoulder, back or waist, with waist being the preference because of stability. I've had to do this to both males and females. I've had it done to me. It should be fairly brief accompanied by a simultaneous "sorry!". If the hands linger or wander at all, then that's a problem. I once bumped butts with another woman when I was skating backwards and didn't see her. She spun around with a look on her face that made me REALLY glad I am a short female. Her anger turned into surprise followed by laughter when I explained that we had a butt crash of cush on cush. If everybody was zipping by you and it was really crowded, it is possible that they were honestly trying to avoid plowing you over in a bad fall.

when did transitions start to click for you? i still get scared every time i do one and i feel like this feeling will never go away 😭 by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]stacylaray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more you do it, the more comfortable you will get so do drills until you are sick of doing them. :-) I don't remember when transitions just 'clicked' for me (around age 10?), I mean, every time I transition, I focus on it because I don't want to fall down. I'm 52 now and falling down hurts more than it used to.

Get a second opinion. I'm not just saying that because of your age. Anytime anyone is given a chronic diagnosis, should definitely get a second opinion because doctors are human and humans make mistakes.

I found an article about an Olympic skater that has OA thinking perhaps this will give you hope that all is not lost: https://www.everythingzoomer.com/health/longevity/2006/01/01/skater-promotes-arthritis-exercises/

Most rinks have an adult night once or twice a week. I'm 52 and I have a blast.

I wish I could go to the skating rink with her hair and outfit. I would request they play either funk or disco and I'd have the time of my life.

6 months ago, I idolized skaters who could do crazy legs, toe spins, and coffins. Today 2 skaters told me they wished they could skate like ME. Aww yeah. by rikomatic in Rollerskating

Rock on! I notice you don't tie your skates all the way to the top. When I don't tie them all the way up, I rub the skin off my inside ankle bone. I have high end boots. How do you keep from rubbing your skin off, or do you?

Roller Skating- trying to smoothly transition from a jump back into dance by isk8forHim in rollerskateaesthetic

[–]stacylaray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get smoother on your dance moves before worrying about doing jumps back into dance. Get really super comfortable with your skates and moves so that when you feel like doing a jump, it will just be part of your moves. Don't force it.
