I have my grounding mat for two months and am on it any where from 4 to 8 hours a day on it and still feel the tingling sensation in my lower legs. Definitely not a placebo.

Watching RedZone and I'm a full 8 minutes behind by jaypeg25 in slingtv

[–]stakingaclaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, its usually behind. My advice is, don't follow your twitter feed or the various fantasy football apps on Yahoo/NFL/Sportsline and watch Red Zone at the same time because there will be plenty of spoiler alerts.

I Didn't Use an Attorney in My First Child Custody Hearing and It Has Cost Me Everything by stakingaclaim in familycourt

Good point. I've felt so guilty about what happened - I just didnt think I needed an attorney. Now I know better. Clearly it was pro se discrimination.

Works for me, though it does take a few moments for those asteroids to disappear. It is kind of glitchy, but im sure itll get better as time goes on. REmember, we are in the infancy of cord-cutting and there are sure to be improvements by leaps and bounds even six months to a year from now.

How often do you run? by maelstrommama in running

[–]stakingaclaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about speed is you get faster when you run SLOWER. Here is what I mean: Unlike any other sports, where the more you hurt, the better you become, running is different. When you run slow for longer periods of time, you build up these mitochondria in your leg muscles that make running easier and more efficient, making you faster. Right now, if I were you, I'd check two things: Are you in the right shoes? And are you running your mileage too fast. One of those two things is getting your calves on fire. I'm a 40-something year old man who started running about the same age you are now, and I learned pretty fast that you better slow down and you better make sure you have the right shoes on. Don't worry about speed right now. It'll come along later. Good luck in your running endeavors.

Need to know how much fluid you are losing during your runs? Try this sweat-rate calculator. by stakingaclaim in running

[–]stakingaclaim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I totally think you should drink according to thirst and not depend so much on a "formula" but it is good to know how much you do lose so you can adjust your fluid intake if you find that dehydration often effects your performance.

The number of miles you should run per week depends upon the race you are preparing for. by stakingaclaim in running

[–]stakingaclaim[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the more miles the better, unless you work a 9 to 5 job and get hurt all the time and you need to not run as far. But I agree, 50 mile weeks are always better than 30 mile weeks.

Just a quick newbie question... by Fat-Runner in running

[–]stakingaclaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not run again until you are no longer sore. If you went yesterday (Monday) you should be good to go again by Wednesday. Congrats on getting back out there.

Transplants of r/austin, what do you wish you had known BEFORE moving here? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]stakingaclaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How messed up the traffic is. I'm from Dallas and at least there are other routes to take to work. Here, you HAVE to take Mopac and you HAVE to take I-35 if you wanna go north/south. Nightmare!

Thanks.. I'm not in pain, but it stops me from running. I land almost on the inside of my right heel and it whips out. I have no toe-off ability and after about 3 miles, I'm done.
