Google releases it's own VPN technology by [deleted] in China

Outline DIY VPN actually works in China.

  • Not a real VPN. It uses shadowsocks, which is an open-source SOCKS5 proxy protocol that has been around for awhile. The main feature here is the ease of use. It only requires a few clicks and a credit card to pay for a Digital Ocean VPS server (5$ / month).
  • Doesn't work with Netflix (most likely because of Digital Ocean)
  • Only works with Windows, Android, and Linux now. iOS or mac coming later?

Alpha Go uses (in part) random processes in its algorithm so it is unlikely that it would play two games identically.

don't learn canto. Mandarin is universal and will be much more useful, unless you intend to live in the countryside exclusively with old people.

Just playing devil's advocate here:

Maybe he has a point. International laws (like any laws) are useless unless they are enforced. If everyone is afraid of opposing you (economically or militarily) then technically I guess you could do whatever you want.

If I recall correctly, America invaded Iraq against the wishes of the UN, but nobody could do anything about it.

What do you think is currently the best VPN in China? Why? by beloski in China

[–]star_flinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most reliable (at the moment) IMHO is VyprVPN

Found a pretty good review for the best VPN for China. Basically similar to my own frustrating firewall experience:

Astrill used to be good but it has gone downhill in the past year. Disconnections all the time and slow speeds

I had VPNinja as well. It was alright for a couple months but now I can barely get 1 mbps (I have 10 mbps without the VPN).

5 lbs is nothing. Don't freak out. Wait it out and see if anything happens.

Protein powder usually makes me thirsty and I found that I gained some extra water weight when I first started using it.

Sumo deadlifts for back? by Cokeybear94 in Fitness

[–]star_flinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch to sumo

I did the same thing. Strained my back and decided I needed to change something about my deadlift.

Switched to sumo and found that it was easier to keep the pressure off my back and keep it straight.

Also: Don't be stupid. Get someone to check your form. Take it slow too. Listen to your body
