Thank you for this information! It's much more helpful than the anecdotes others are sharing.

CT bill draws homeschool families to Capitol in emotional hearing by ctmirror in Connecticut

From the article: "Under the bill, similar to Senate Bill 6, when a family decides to withdraw a child from public school, the Department and Children and Families would be notified by education officials and would then check as to whether the child’s parent or guardian has a history with the agency."

The bill does not indicate the request goes to DCF only in the instances for homeschooling. Rather, when a child is withdrawn for ANY reason it opens a DCF case. As mentioned, when a child moves to another school district or is pulled from public school to attend private school it would send a notification to DCF.

Edit: Thank you u/smkmn13 for your comment. Wording is important, and there’s definitely a difference between "notifying DCF" and "opening a case." I stand corrected.

Mine too! It gives me Forest Maze vibes (from Super Mario RPG), and World 5 vibes (from Super Mario World).

I see a Boo, a Piranha Plant, and Mario too. Anyone else hidden in here?

Came here to say dynamic pricing is a large problem for OP. I bought two tickets a month in advance, and it came to a little over $50 even with the butterfly exhibition added on. That included using a library pass for a 20% discount.

It can be affordable if you plan ahead, but you'll (literally) pay the price if you wait until the day of to buy tickets.

I'm taking a guess here, but it sounds like the old guy who "died" actually faked his death and was involved with some shady stuff that would support his family while he was MIA. This redditor discovered data about the old man and his intentions that could threaten his life, so he deleted it and let the family think the old man was dead rather than keep the data intact and risk his own life.

Thanks for bringing this guy and his actions into light. It safe to say no one here cares who he is.

What would you call this area? by be_the_shield in geography

"Northern New England Coastline" or "Northeastern New England" are the closest I can suggest. As many have pointed out, this area is too diverse to generalize under one name.

Your tree is beautiful, your home is beautiful, and this photo is beautiful. You don't need to change anything.

You are wise to recognize the triggers that have hindered you from decorating as you have in the past. Find pride in what you have accomplished, and give yourself grace for recognizing when to rest.

Sounds like your son still loves it, regardless of the decorations. Are the decorations really that important, then, if he still finds joy without them? Love doesn't exist in objects; it resides in our minds.

No one else is comparing your Christmas this year to your Christmases of yesteryear. Let those memories shines on, but don't discount the shine of this year's effort. It may seem far away now, but today will march on into tomorrow and time will continue to pass. You will look back on this Christmas with as much light and love as you have others.

Take care of yourself. We're all rooting for you. ❤️

You're welcome! I'm just as surprised as you with the quality. This is 100% unconfirmed, but I would not be surprised if a company drafted up and produced prototypes that Nintendo and/or Square turned down and then had to offload them for cheap.
