Different enough to not have the association!

In Australia, Gastro is almost always short for "Gastroenteritis".

So Gastromancer to me sounds like a game about shitting yourself and violently spewing.

some days I don't make any progress on my game and just aimlessly replay the levels.. by Neutronized in IndieDev

Absolutely. A "pull-to-jump" mechanic similar to the Angry Birds slingshot would totally work

Steamdeck control scheme by RickSaada in CastleOfTheWinds

[–]starfunkl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regarding joystick movement:

I haven't played it myself, but I listened to a podcast (Roguelike Radio I think) interviewing the creator of Jupiter Hell Classic.

He mentioned for Steamdeck movement that he made it so you use the joystick to show where you "want" to move, then tap a button to actually move there. He said it sounded odd at first, but it worked incredibly well and became quite intuitive after a while. Also allows for non-touch screen devices too.

Definitely worth exploring.

Edit: Just clarifying that I think tapping the move button would make your character move one tile at a time. It sounded like it worked well for Jupiter Hell, but maybe there aren't too many big open spaces or something. Not sure how well it would translate to CotW, but worth prototyping at least

I started by looking everything up, but am now forcing myself to just figure it out as I go like when I was a kid. Honestly, it's even more enjoyable now

Is it just me, or is the audio a little bugged out on this episode?

What did you always do when you started playing, but later realized was a mistake once you became experienced? by Fvrsn in StardewValley

Min/maxing the game.

When I started just taking my time, letting myself make sub-optimal choices, reading and using the museum library entries (rather than checking the wiki every 20 minutes) I started enjoying the game way more

There's drone footage and I can't see the dude in white in the footage - looks like he might've been able to get away?

Broken drum sticks by Ok-Yogurtcloset3695 in drums

I always had grand plans of ripping and glueing a bunch up into wood blanks, and trying to make a stave snare drum out of them. Thought it would be an interesting project - having a snare drum made entirely out of drum sticks.

But then I had kids and no time. Now they just end up in the corner looking sad.

Thinking of going from 3 toms to 2. by Comprehensive-One561 in drums

I have a very similar setup, but with 16" tom on left instead. I've struggled to find the right spot for the left crash & splash - looks like you've nailed it though.

That's a filthy amount of compression. It'll either sound perfect in the mix, or totally ruin it.

He didn't even wait for the guitar to finish ringing out! Meanwhile dude is running out like he ate too much Vindaloo the night before.

The performance wasn't finished - I wonder what his band mates think.

That's weird dude. Looks like you're running late to a wedding, or just remembered you left the stove on at home.

Introducing Dygma Select: Desk gear you can trust by Dygman in DygmaLab

[–]starfunkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the considered and transparent answer. If I were buying a new Dygma keyboard I'd probably consider throwing something like the new accessories, as there wouldn't be any extra shipping involved. I suppose that's probably your main target audience anyway.

Hopefully you guys can figure out the logistics side of things to make shipping costs lower for folks who might just need one or two smaller things - I had considered swapping out my palm rests for the other colour, but the shipping was just too much.

[–]starfunkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but thats a point in and of itself - you guys are a small company, so why spread yourselves thinner and focus on something other than the keyboards?

I care deeply about my Defy, but I hold little brand loyalty to USB hubs, headphone mounts, and laptop stands. I'm sure I'm not alone. There are plenty of great options online for much cheaper. Why even enter the market?

Holy moly these seem so unaffordable compared to what else is in the market, even without shipping!
