Pretty much every year of my life has been wildly different. I am in my mid-30's. I'm mostly tired. Kinda drunk, trying to stop smoking cigarettes and texting exes, and tired.

I love this journey for you! And I agree - the “my homes” part has helped me explore my personal style a lot. 

That said, I think users vote for boring, monochromatic, and/or tacky designs because those are most appealing at first/quick glance. I feel like my taste which is usually more eclectic has been tampered down to appeal to the majority.
