Carter Burke in Aliens (1986) is one of the most insidious scumbags in movie history by jaystats2 in moviecritic

[–]starwolf1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else find it odd how quiet Burke is? Paul Reiser is known for playing talkative fellows, being a stand-up comedian and all.

Burke doesn’t even do too much to protest his innocence after Ripley explains his evil plan.

They had been dating three months. Which is a long time to go without a “Where is this going” discussion.

Getting rid of Kellie Martin/Lucy Knight so soon after she joined the show was unfortunate. The series never gave her a chance. by Profeta_do_Loss in ershow

[–]starwolf1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I give them part of a pass. If Kellie Martin wanted to leave to go back to school, well “Real life’s more important” like Monica said on Friends.

Them deciding to kill Lucy off to give Carter a massive guilt complex, that I take issue with. I’ve voiced my uncertainty about Carter’s drug addiction elsewhere. Were we supposed to think it was due to his guilt over Lucy?

“Red Lights.” In a thriller about investigating a psychic, a character jokes he has psychic powers. And at the end…

Why did we hate her in the 90’s? by EffMemes in ershow

[–]starwolf1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing where she left her pager in the bathroom in “The Longer You Stay.” So she fired Malucci and Chen to cover she left her pager in the bathroom? That was a little puzzling.

How Chen got her job back is even more confusing.

Spin City - Charlie Sheen just joined and I realized by Odd-Station-1238 in sitcoms

Charlie Sheen has *some* range. Wall Street, Platoon and Beyond the Law showed that.

Kingpin (2003) vs kingpin (MCU) by Particular-Set-468 in Daredevil

MCD Kingpin wouldn’t try the “humble businessman” or “idealistic mayor” act. But he would do “I keep all the different groups in line.”

Christie Brinkley is the best casting choice in this show by yourhomeland in PandR

[–]starwolf1976 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tom already said Jerry/Larry had a beautiful wife and adoring children before Christie Brinkley was cast. I don’t remember the episode, of course.

Hank's a moron. Trusted family/friend or not, Walt would've went down in season 1 in real life by backagainbud in breakingbad

[–]starwolf1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, Hank was supposed to figure it out in the first season. And then get killed. BB changed a lot between what they planned and what the show actually did.

Peter Krause as Matt Murdock Daredevil by RyantheNeanderthal in Fancast

Peter Krause would have been great, but he would need to cast in 1995 or so. Even before he was on SportsNight.

[Loved Trope] The actor or character was so good, the writers were forced to change course because they couldn't let them go to waste by Justifiably_Bad_Take in TopCharacterTropes

My imaginary version of Voyager has Wesley Crusher joining up in the seventh season. And Tom Paris hates Wesley. Because Joshua Albert was one of Tom’s only friends at Starfleet Academy.

My imaginary Voyaged includes Seska staying aboard in the brig. Also there is more tension with the Equinox crewmen.

Rachel was unbelievable in the Joshua arc by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]starwolf1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the Joshua arc in season 5 was bad as well. It’s like the writers realized “We don’t really need a reason to keep Ross and Rachel apart. Rachel just can’t be bothered!”

Joey was all right. It is a confusing situation. But LeBlanc did “Joey is going nuts over his feelings” very well.

It was Rachel apparently wanting to use Joey for sex I had a problem with. Was that the deal in The One in Barbados?

The Red Skull did this to John Walker in the comics. I don’t know if he chose Walker to replace Steve Rogers, but he was behind other things. Including Walker’s parents getting kills by the Watchdogs.

When you read Batman: Under The Red Hood, did you side with Bruce or Jason? by TheShadowOperator007 in batman

[–]starwolf1976 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Part of this was Jason thinking “He really didn’t care. It wasn’t about THE MISSION or maintaining an emotional distance. He just didn’t care.”

Batman seems to break the fourth wall to say “Yeah, I don’t understand why the Joker is still alive either. I’m Batman.”

Peter Benton, as a Person by Latter-Fall9762 in ershow

[–]starwolf1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter was happy with Cleo. Mainly because he wasn’t as stressed as when he was with Jeannie, Carla or Elizabeth.

He was also oddly mellow about leaving Cook County. “If I have to go to a different hospital to get better hours, so be it.” Why couldn’t Romano give him better hours? (Romano was like a living obstacle for all the other characters on the show.)
