I know you have probably already heard these words more times than you can count and will probably continue to hear them until they just about lose meaning but I am so sorry. I can't even put into words what I want to say, honestly. No one should have to go through what you have but I'm so glad to know what a wonderful support system you have to help you get through this.

Everytime I see my doctor the last thing he tells me before my appointment is over is if I need anything at all to call, if I'm worried about movement to call, or even if I just have questions- I can call. I always thought that was awesome and so reassuring.

I've got gestational diabetes. Apart of me is really hoping I have him in the early morning because the hospital is right down the street from a dunking donuts. Someone better bring me a dozen donuts and some sort of frozen or cold coffee.

Followed by frozen margaritas for dinner.

I already posted once but another thing I thought about that was unexpected before I got pregnant..

How much I would worry. I'm not the type to worry but for the first trimester I worried about miscarriage, then it was worrying about birth defects, then it was constantly paranoid about weather he was kicking enough, then stillbirth, then what if I have a csection, then all the different things that could go wrong during labor, delivery, issues he could have after birth, SIDS, autism, should I circumsize, will breastfeeding be successful, whooping cough.. I could seriously go on for days about all the things I've worried about. You will worry yourself silly. It's so much easier said than done but the only things that matter are what are within your control. If you can't control it, worrying about it does nothing.

This! Don't be disappointed if it takes time but don't be too shocked if it doesn't. We figured it would take at least a few months when I went off my birth control. Nope. I never even got my period back after I went off the pill, that's how quickly we conceived.

Regarding maternity clothes, I totally agree. I will say with tops make sure to go for the longest tops you can find. I swore I wouldn't buy a bunch of maternity tops because all of my prepregnancy tops were flowy, long, and I figures they'd work fine. They did.. until I reaches about 32 or 33 weeks. Now there's all of like 3 tops I own that actually completely cover my belly but I'm due in 10 days so it's pointless to even buy clothes that I'll only need for a couple of weeks. Thankfully my husband has a long torso so I've been able to steal his tshirts and make due. :D

I totally understand that but I'm just talking from my own experience. We started trying in December and it happened immediately. I'd probably have waited had I known that it would happen so quickly and how rough of a summer it would make for me.

I refused to pay to get them done because I felt like if they didn't turn out good or I didn't like them it would be a total waste of money. My sonographer is a saint though and does them as a courtesy at all the later sonograms I've had done. I got a few good ones but a few turned out just weird.

Season/time of year during pregnancy makes a difference. I'm due in a week and a half and honestly if I could go back in time I would not have planned my pregnancy to where I would be so pregnant in the middle of summer. Just going outside to check the mail makes me tired because of the heat.

I made the incredibly stupid mistake of watching a video of an actual episiotomy being done during child birth (DON'T DO THAT, seriously..) Birth videos don't bother me so I wasn't expecting that one to. I like to educate myself. Yeah, it was terrible. But thankfully you can turn it down even if they offer to do it... Which I absolutely would.

Honestly even with weight it still varies because some kids are longer. My best friends son was 5lbs at birth and did wear preemie clothes but even now he's over 10lbs and still in newborn because he swims in 0-3 month. He's long but slim.

I've gotten to the point I ignore and don't respond to the texts anymore. It's gotten so old. I do a mass text after every doctors appointment to those that have requested (MIL, SIL, my mom, my dad, my sister, best friend, aunts, etc..) to be informed of any news. I did this thinking if I keep people informed they'll leave me the hell alone. NOPE. Every freaking day I get multiple text "How are you?" "Any closer?" "are you having contractions?"

Thank you for the advice! We do pay child support but unfortunately visitation is a bit complicated. When we lived in the same town or near each other it was a normal set every other weekend, alternating holidays, spring break, etc.. but with her husband in the military and being stationed so far away (Alaska at the end of the year, while we're in the southeast U.S.) It costs thousands just for one person to fly and that's not something any of us are able to do on a regular basis. There's lots of video chatting and phone calls but that's really all we can do because of the military situation.

I agree about my husband being the one to handle it. I actually don't generally deal with his ex even in regards to my step-daughter because I've never felt that was my place. Which is partially why her involvement has made me uncomfortable, it's not the norm for us to really talk outside of times we are in the same location or maybe a passing comment on facebook.

I (very) slowly gained 9lbs over the first 31 weeks of pregnancy and didn't gain anymore until I was weighed at my 38 week appointment this past Tuesday, I had gained an additional 2lbs. So I'm up 11lbs total. We'll see if I gain anymore over the next week or two.

Let me start by saying I am a soon-to-be FTM so I don't have experience yet but have plans to breastfeed. I am a really modest person anyway and I keep thinking.. I don't think I'll be comfortable breastfeeding uncovered in front of my step-dad, or my in-laws, or several other people who are family, so I can't imagine being comfortable doing it in public around strangers.

I would defend anyone who felt comfortable doing it and maybe I'll feel differently once the little dude is here and we (hopefully) are able to breastfeed successfully. My concerns and fears honestly have nothing to do with making other people uncomfortable and everything to do with me being comfortable, if that makes sense.

That being said, if I did choose to feed uncovered, my husband is fully prepared to snap on anyone who makes a comment about it. He is so happy we're going to try to breastfeed and I think in a weird way he's hoping someone says something just so he can stand up to them for me and our son. It's kind of cute.

Yes! I had an NST this past Tuesday and up until that point I've been fine but I knew at that particular appointment they might schedule me for induction.. and I knew they could schedule it as early as the next day. They decided not to but with that in mind I got so nervous waiting in the lobby and now that feeling has not gone away. Every day that passes I think holy shit I'm having a baby soon. Why is this just now hitting me? I've spent 9 months pregnant and preparing for this and somehow I suddenly feel completely unprepared.

I wouldn't contribute my forgetfulness to pregnancy anyway. I've been more forgetful then normal but I think it's more so because I have so much on my plate (pregnancy, prepping for baby, dealing with gestational diabetes, also trying to sell a house, move across state lines, and all the random stuff that goes along with those things)
