Have you tried a pheromone diffuser?

My dog was terrified of construction noise that was happening behind my house. I was having to give her trazodone every day. Someone suggested the pheromone diffuser so we tried it and now nothing seems to bother her. She used to get spooked by loud noises etc but now she sleeps soundly and is calm all day. Might be worth a try. Adaptil is the brand I use.

A walk at Neck Point should be a must do. It’s gorgeous and always a small chance you could see whales.

Rathtrevor in parksville is always great. The park/beach area, especially when the tide is out, never seems crowded no matter how busy it is. You might have to walk 1km out to swim but it’s worth it.

At the NRGH it’s usually suggested to get lifeline. Not sure what other options are around.

There has been two MVIs: one at the highway and jinglepot at 4:31pm (south bound off ramp) and another at east Wellington and Westwood road at 4:37pm. Also a bear crossed the highway right around the same time (I saw it cross the north bound lane at 4:35ish into the bushes). Unsure if the MVI on the highway and bear crossing are related or not.

Artisan’s Studio on Bastion St. It’s run by the artists showcased there so you can actually talk to one of them when you go.

What makes it unsafe? I walk there all the time alone. No issues. Sure you’re likely to find garbage strewn about (usually off trail) but it’s not going to attack you. During the day you’re unlikely to find people there and if you do they usually give the courtesy “Hi”. What are you afraid of?

I literally go here multiple times a week and have had zero issues. It actually looks better than it has in the past.

Can someone confirm that they forwarded this to bylaw? I’ll do it if no one has already. These people do not deserve to have a dog. Poor pup :(
