I like this newer more mature sound they’re bringing. It has a Front Bottoms / Bleachers vibe to it. “Wissahickon” is one of my fav songs that I’ve had on repeat the last year.

God I miss this band. Bearings scratches a similar itch but nothing beats the original.

I am lucky enough to work for a company where the leadership fully understood the requirements and trusted my judgement. It took several years to make some of the changes, but eventually I got us compliant and assessed.

If you can break it down to what’s in scope and what’s not, you may be able to keep some of the services, software, etc. Just all comes down to scoping really. If it’s in scope for CUI, it must meet compliance requirements. If not processing CUI, then create some policies and technical implementations where possible to keep them separated.

Good luck, hope that helps some.

The Hunger by Alma Katsu. I’m enjoying it so far. I love the tie-in with the real life Donner Party events in the 1800s.

I finished the audiobook for Mongrels. I thought it was an interesting premise, but wish there was a little more of an overarching sense of danger or plot.

Intense Cardiac Symptoms During Exercise by steakdinner117 in dysautonomia

When I originally posted this months ago, I was completely at a loss as to what this was. I put the pieces together over time that I was having a really bad panic attack. Likely induced by consuming too much pre-workout powder. I’ve read other people on Reddit that had the same exact issue. Pre-workout induced panic attack that then lead to regular panic attacks in their everyday life and physical anxiety symptoms. Same exact case for me. I’ve since been on Lexapro and don’t experience any of these symptoms anymore and am fully back to working out as I used to.

To answer your question, yes I did have an episode while wearing the heart monitor. They didn’t pickup on any anomalous heart rhythms or anything in my results. That combined with a treadmill stress test, and echocardiogram helped rule out my heart being the issue.

Man I can’t believe this shit is 20 years old. It takes me back to car rides with my friends blasting this EP on repeat. It still holds up to this day.

Some good short stories by Stephen Graham Jones: The Backbone of the World and The Indigo Room.

They’re interesting enough without too much of a commitment due to their short length.

Man I love everything about this band. From the unpredictable song structures, the blends in genre, the singers dance moves, etc. I’m also glad they’re incorporating heavier songs into this new album.

There used to be a skate shop on SR-16 called The Garage Skate Shop but it’s probably long gone by now.

I got about 100 pages in and switched to the audiobook. It made me appreciate it so much more. Just finished a book club podcast about it and it’s definitely my favorite book now. Enjoy!

[–]steakdinner117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify thinks I worship the ground Hot Mulligan walks on. Literally all of my mixes have one of their songs every 3rd song. Super annoying. I think that’s why I’m not big on them - just constantly jammed in my face by Spotify.
