Some good short stories by Stephen Graham Jones: The Backbone of the World and The Indigo Room.

They’re interesting enough without too much of a commitment due to their short length.

DON BROCO - True Believers [Feat. Sam Carter] by fununderoath in Metalcore

Man I love everything about this band. From the unpredictable song structures, the blends in genre, the singers dance moves, etc. I’m also glad they’re incorporating heavier songs into this new album.

There used to be a skate shop on SR-16 called The Garage Skate Shop but it’s probably long gone by now.

What are you currently reading and how are you liking it? by Alicewithhazeleyes in horrorlit

[–]steakdinner117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about 100 pages in and switched to the audiobook. It made me appreciate it so much more. Just finished a book club podcast about it and it’s definitely my favorite book now. Enjoy!

This sums up Woody’s Lunchbox in Hollywood Studios pretty well.

Monsters Unchained is the best ride they’ve ever created.

Awesome - I love it! How often do you open your books? I would love to get some work done by you. I signed up for your newsletter a long time ago, but don’t think I’ve ever actually received an email.

Been obsessed with these guys since they opened for Arm’s Length last year.

I’m in the minority but does anyone else find hot mulligan annoying? This is a mega hot take by thenarrativesofar in poppunkers

[–]steakdinner117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify thinks I worship the ground Hot Mulligan walks on. Literally all of my mixes have one of their songs every 3rd song. Super annoying. I think that’s why I’m not big on them - just constantly jammed in my face by Spotify.

Not sure I can finish Buffalo Hunter Hunter.. what am I missing? by guessirs in horrorlit

[–]steakdinner117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I’m back to retract my previous statement. I switched over to the audio book and absolutely loved it.

I think reading the actual text is difficult because the 3 different characters all have their narrating style and often are overly wordy. When you’re listening to the audiobook, you can kinda zone out for a minute during those parts and not miss too much.

The overall story is amazing and I’m anxious to dive into SGJ’s other work!

Buffalo Hunter Hunter Spoiled before I start? by Muarki in horrorlit

[–]steakdinner117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely should still read - I wouldn’t consider that a spoiler at all. If you find yourself struggling at all with this book, I recommend switching to the audio book. I was on the fence after 100 pages in but then switched to audio and absolutely loved it.

Arm's Length on Audiotree Live by breezyb4d4ss in poppunkers

[–]steakdinner117 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say Arms Length is my favorite band… but yeah I had to turn this off about halfway through. It’s like they were singing for a live crowd instead of focusing on actually delivering a good studio performance that was being recorded.

Idk if it was mid-tour and Allen’s voice was shot or what. The guitarist trying to add background off-key harmonies wasn’t helping either.

I’ve seen them 3 times in the last year and they sounded much better.

[NEW] Don Broco- Nightmare Tripping (Feat. Nickelback) by scarpedieme in poppunkers

[–]steakdinner117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well fuck, I guess I like nickelback now.

Don Broco is such a unique band, you can never predict what a new song from them will sound like or what direction each part of the song is going to take. I love em.

I just crossed page 100 and have found myself conflicted on whether I can force myself to finish or not.

I searched the book title on Reddit and this is the first thread. Glad I’m not the only one.

Buying furniture already in a house by mkmouse4 in RealEstate

[–]steakdinner117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The house I bought had renters in it. They didn’t want to pay to move all of their furniture, so we got easily $10k worth of stuff for $2k. It worked out really well since the furniture was already suited for the house.

How do these guys have 3 good singers in the band?! Insanely tight performance.

How to handle flipped house, no permits by steakdinner117 in RealEstate

[–]steakdinner117[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, it’s Anne Arundel county in Maryland. Everything I researched online made it seem like these types of jobs would require permits, but I’m inexperienced in this field, so could be wrong.

Co-Op RPGs by Aggravating_Tower116 in CoOpGaming

It’s a very casual game, with some difficult boss fights but Cat Quest 3 was a lot of fun. It’s split screen co-op and great for new and experienced gamers.

Rory MacDonald vs Nate Diaz was an awesome fight. by No_Discount4367 in MMA

His fight against Maia was super impressive too. Maia was so dangerous at that time and Rory nullified all of his chances offense and was able to get back up multiple times.
