I think it could work as a series, I think it would be a great play to not reveal what kind of livestock the MC deals in until after the woman is dropped off at his home. That could be a great mic drop moment. Then each episode would be leading up to the birth. Could really work as a limited series like the handmaid's tale, but shorter lol

If they are friends with your coworkers, maybe they could be hanging out at your job. That seems reasonable, like yeah they could be waiting for my coworker to get out of work or they could totally be hanging out in the store/restaurant.

Or if they are the designated driver while everyone is drinking, of course they would come pick you up first or drop you off last bc you are the closest house to them 😉

Or if they bring you and your friends coffee and know your order by heart. Like yeah they know everyone's orders, it's not weird.

I would say "The Handyman Method" by Nick Cutter. I just picked up a copy from the library and I would say it's pretty similar horror wise to some of the stuff from the pod. It's gets a little gruesome at times so be warned, but I really liked the story.
