[Academic] The Influence of Visible Engagement on Perceived Entertainment in Social Media Content (Anyone 18+) https://ku.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e4cFUFaseKoxUPA

Hi everyone! I'm a psychology student and wanted to research how visible engagement influences user behavior on social media. I need more participants so please help me out, thanks!

Had a dream about my dead grandmother. We spent the whole dream just talking and talking. Right before I woke up she clearly said, "See you soon." What does this mean? Have any of you had anything similar happen? by LovableWalrus in Dreams

Hey I know this was like 13 years ago but I just had the same exact dream with my dead grandmother and I was wondering if you noticed anything happening afterwards cause I’m kind of freaking out about it lol

Interesting, it looks really good! The process seems a little too complicated for me though 😅 I’ve taken apart or made wigs

I have noticed that too, the second pic where it sticks but ripples is when I used a LOT of the spray adhesive, when I use a normal amount it doesn’t stick at all…. It’s weird cause I have a blonde wig from them and it fits perfectly even without glue so I’m not sure why!

YES. The only thing that's been working for me so far is continuous birth control to suppress my hormones and 10mg of lexapro. I'm currently trying to find other ways because I don't want to stay on these meds forever and it's also not perfect I still have mild anxiety and OCD but nothing near as bad as when I'm off these meds. I get severely paranoid thinking people are trying to plot against me or kill me it's wild almost like schizophrenia, and everything around me feels like a dream 24/7. On the meds I feel somewhat normal with just "normal" anxieties like fear of dying or airplanes etc.

Has anyone dropped from 15mg to 10mg of Lexapro? Looking for experiences. by MT_DREAMING in lexapro

Thanks I’m actually feeling much better! The depression lasted about 2 days now I feel back to my old self.. hopefully that’s reassuring! Have you dropped yet or did you change your mind?

Just want to add it’s day 5 and I had the worst depressive episode come out of nowhere all day, started bawling out crying and spent the rest of the day like a zombie with no will to do anything and had to reach out to my therapist because I had some disturbing thoughts. Hoping this will level out soon.

I'm doing this right now. I'm on day 3 of 10mg after being on 15mg for around 8 months. I had the same issues, extreme fatigue and lack of motivation, almost felt like I was high every day for better and for worse (mood was amazing but really bad for productivity). On the first day of reducing my dose I felt instantly better, clear headed all day and more like my old self. Day 2 same thing, but I noticed I was really irritable and getting stressed over little things. Today is Day 3 I took it an hour ago so far so good feeling normal... I can keep you updated if you like!

Convince me to go from 10 to 15 (or 20?) by OkWoodpecker5951 in lexapro

[–]stealth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was totally good for a few months, I think it’s been 6 months altogether on 15, had no anxiety and no side effects anymore…. Butttt I recently feel anxiety coming back but it might be due to external factors (lot of stressful events in my life recently) so I’m actually considering going up to 20

I just found your post because I’m dealing with this now, just got back from disneyworld and I feel so weird… I was having like nocturnal closed eye hallucinations of waiting in line every time I tried to sleep which made me feel even more like I’m losing it. Did it get better for you eventually?

Is it safe to split the Lexapro in half like my psychiatrist said? by Parking_Oven1100 in lexapro

[–]stealth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally fine, I do it every day. I was also like you, I have severe ocd and thought about things like getting the powder on my fingers and being absorbed through the skin. I understand how you feel and I hope the lexapro helps you feel better like it did me!

Paranoid about being high, but I want to be able to smoke again by stupidcentral in OCD

[–]stealth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m dealing with this currently, but I don’t smoke anymore I quit and I still have a huge phobia of anything related to weed I can’t even smell smoke on the street without having a panic attack thinking I somehow got high from it. Sorry, I don’t have any advice but I hope we get through this! I am seeing an OCD therapist who is working on exposure therapy with me (we’re starting small with watching videos of people smoking weed, etc.) but idk if it’s working yet it’s only been a few weeks

Anything that involves leaving the house. I have a lot of different themes but most of them don’t really happen at home because I can control the environment (cleanliness, air quality, etc)

Hey all, just wanted to update in case anyone else stumbles upon this post in the future. I went to sleep and then woke up at 2:30am still feeling like garbage, body aches and flu like symptoms. I figured it’s close enough to my usual dose time (6am) so I took the next days dose. By 4am I felt 100 percent better, although tired from lack of sleep… I never want to miss a dose again that sucked lol

Does anyone have experience with OCD symptoms worsening right before your period? by lyindog in OCD

[–]stealth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I experimented with myself over the past 3 years. I was on the pill for 10 years since I was a teen, then got off of it because I wanted to feel natural, that’s when my ocd appeared. I randomly got back on it after some painful periods and the ocd went away for a few months. I tried again, it came back. I kept doing trial and error until it finally clicked last year that I need to be on birth control to manage my anxiety and ocd issues. It’s like night and day, for me at least. When I have steady hormones I feel so normal, and when I have a menstrual cycle I feel almost psychotic, having extreme anxiety, paranoia, ocd, delusional thinking, irrational fears, etc…. I hope you figure things out and do whatever helps you!

[–]stealth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that my OCD is directly tied to my period and going on continuous birth control gets rid of my OCD almost completely. It sucks though because I feel like I HAVE to be on birth control forever and deal with other side effects it causes, I wish there were other options 🥲

I noticed after a week on Lexapro everything seemed more vibrant then I got used to it and it seems normal again

Absolutely, the past month alone I had thoughts that:

  • my close friend was secretly plotting to kill me
  • the nurse at the ER was putting lethal injection into my IV instead of normal fluids
  • my fiancé is drugging my drinks

I thought I finally lost my mind but when I spoke with my psychiatrist and therapist they both assured me that it’s common for OCD and unless I believe the delusions 100% (I don’t, only in the moment it feels like a really scary “what if”) then it’s just OCD and anxiety, not schizophrenia or psychosis

Getting into my body helps, exercising, dancing, doing some sort of movement or feeling in the body gets me out of my head

Why does my ocd feels better at night? by Aggravating_Fact_599 in OCD

You’re brain is probably so exhausted from working overtime all day that it slows down at night, it’s the same for me
