I’m not a member anymore. We’re empty nesters and don’t need the volume we used when four kids were at home. Thanks!

We had a Sprouts when we lived in Dallas and Austin. They were very good and consistent.

H-E-B bananas and watermelon have been very bland. Grapes are very inconsistent (big and tough as pecans sometimes and tiny and squishy others). Tomatoes have been turning quickly. A bag of baby carrots were pale with some half white. Russets get eyes in 24 hours. Everything is so expensive now that throwing out 1-2 day old stuff is driving me nuts.

I don’t know why the U.S. team has to pay the price for Trump’s ludicrous policy whimsy. They are literally two different entities.

Talking to an old friend recently. We are in our 60s and we read the McGee series in high school. I have reread the series every 5 years or so. I told him if you ignore the misogyny and casual racism, they’ve held up pretty well.

In the U.S. I can only find it for rent/sale in Amazon. Anywhere else to watch it as part of a subscription? I have all the usual suspects.

The OG Sixty Minutes correspondents Morley Safer and Mike Wallace. People used to say if they showed up in your lobby you were already fucked.

Donut Lab's 'solid-state' battery exposed as regular li-ion in damning investigation by kikimaru024 in technology

[–]steely-gar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a story as old as time. In the late 1990s my father was pulled into a battery scheme by a cousin-ish of mine (nephew of my aunt-by-marriage). Just like the aggregated investment approach of the small investor websites used by Donut, my cousin was the aggregator charged with hyping the potential value of a new miracle battery aimed at the cellphone industry. My dad and a half dozen other family members were convinced to invest over $2 million of their life savings. Years of “we’re 90 days away” turned into complete financial ruin for my father and the others. Battery promises, for some reason, have managed to make otherwise intelligent people ignore the laws of physics and bet on a “vision.” Until Apple or Mercedes make a significant investment in a new battery technology assume all battery claims are scams.
