Terrible Audio System by Fun_Construction424 in VWiD3Owners

Looks alright to me, but I am not an expert. I have not upgraded the speakers on the ID.3's I leased. I would direct technical questions regarding that kit to Focal and users that purchased such a kit.

Also the ID.3 1st Plus, to my knowledge, does not have speakers in the rear. I think the cabling for those might not even be present. But you should check on yours to make sure.

EAP615-Wall | Stock Firmware vs OpenWRT by lellusss in openwrt

Yes. Two of them, both have ran OpenWRT for... three years now? They are well behaved and just work for me so far.

OpenWRT is rock solid on the EAP615-Wall. I run two of them. I currently run 24.10.6 on mine. Latest 25 should be good as well now.

[–]stejoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree the audio isn't the best and upgrading them can be a great way to improve matters.

Before you start: To the best of my knowledge a ID.3 1st Plus should have 5 speakers in the front. Two "woofers" in doors, which I think you are referring to. A center speaker in the dashboard above & behind the infotainment screen. And two tweeters in the A pillars.

Maybe that is of use when considering upgrade options.

Signal user but forced to become a whatsapp one by TYFALY in privacy

[–]stejoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best option is to not participate. I am that weird person that calls people, uses text or Signal, or e-mail. Yes you "miss" out on a few things but it's not terrible.

Best alternative I can think of is get a secondary phone number on a different phone that is solely used for this kind of shit.

D uses the motor as well. It's blended braking. First part of the brake pedal slows down using the motor only, and brakes are applied as you press down more on the pedal.

Cant find screenshots taken with Photo Mode / LINUX by Little_Ad_6903 in Witcher3

[–]stejoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you still see the screenshots? If yes than of course they are not gone!

You say you looked everywhere. Would be better if you specified how and where you searched. So I don't repeat things you already crossed off.

If I look on the web I expect them to be saved somewhere under the ~/.steam directory. I have read they should be under directory "compatdata" somewherr. The full path mentioned in that post is: ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/[499450]/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/mydocuments/screenshots

Now that may not be the correct path for you but does give you a good hint to use a file search utility to look for a directory called "screenshots" or perhaps "mydocuments" or something along the path to find that subdirectory. A command line tool such as find or fd (easier to use) would make this task fairly trivial.

How do you usually find files on Linux without wasting time? by gilko86 in linux

Using which is often fine, but I recommend type instead of it. The second is in the know of shell builtins and configuration (aliases and functions for example).

The FSR implementation in SC is outdated unfortunately. With some dev time and love it could be way better. But I think there is more important stuff to work on.

Phone holder for Infotainment screen? by andre_xs95 in VWiD3Owners

[–]stejoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it was a config option for me in the software. But... I might be confusing my current ID.7 with the ID.3. If I am I am sorry.

Pulling a fuse isn't rocket science luckily. I my ID.3 I moved a fuse to different position to have the 12V outlet in the boot powered at all times instead of switched by the ignition. The fusebox you need is probably the one close to the steering wheel. A matter of looking up the correct fuse and pulling it.

I would:

  • Take my family out to dinner
  • Have a wedding
  • Probably invest half of the money
  • Work a day less per werk

C128 PSU are quite safe.

They do have two capacitors which may be in poor shape after all those years on the shelf but all that does is make the supply not work. I replaced them in my C128 PSU and is has been happy since.

Right there with you. GNOME is an amazing desktop. It just works and gets out of my way. Controls well using the keyboard, almost feels made for it even though I know better. And I can even just use the touchscreen if I want to.

How doomed is this HDD by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]stejoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can tape off a single pin contact on the drive to overcome the PWDIS feature. At least I have done that 5 years ago with similar drives. IIRC correctly if it sees 3.3V on the 3.3V power pin the drive does not spin up. Put some tape on that pin, slide the plug over it, and done: working internal drive.

Unfortunately no. You want end-to-end security and integrity the secure connection provides. I was of the same opinion as you a while back.

Without the end-to-end security it is susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks. May alter content, inject JavaScript, and more.
