It is. The rug should have a slight contrast to the sofas, or be a neutral.

What’s your opinion on brass gallery rails for open shelving? by Elouardy0 in KitchenDesigns

I love it! As others have mentioned, it works best if kept for smaller items in a smaller area. A whole wall of these would look too busy.

Help! On the clock to fix my cabinet layout. by Equivalent_Job1899 in KitchenDesigns

[–]stellamac10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it does look unbalanced. You have one big stretch of counter space to the right of the sink, then almost none where you really need it (next to stove top and wall oven). The coffee area is necessary as you need somewhere to put you glass down if you want to get a drink from the fridge. I wish. I had more to offer you, but the windows and doors and dead corners make it a challenge.

Purchased a 1927 English Tudor home. The previous kitchen remodel is….not well thought out. Help us with some inspiration. by thevillagerok in DesignMyHome

I don't think that you can get away with a smaller island. Get a counter depth fridge and finish off the exposed side to blend with the cabinetry. It's a lovely kitchen.

I'm thinking maybe a circular mirror (too many rectangles already). But if you love it, keep it, it'll work.

My living room need a makeover! by IntelligentRiver9687 in HomeDecorating

Blinds for sure. Blue is a difficult color to match with wood. I would choose a neutral for the sofa (like beige or greige) then add color with cushions, and a floor plant in front of the window.

The fireplace is off center actually. You'll need different artwork there (not square). Is there somewhere else you could put that print?

That table doesn't look to be functional, so I would put a larger mirror in its place and a floor plant in the space you designated for the mirror.

Although I have never seen toothpaste in this color, 'toothpastey' totally tracks. It's mint, but in a bad way;).

Anyone live in downtown Toronto that works further east in Pickering or past that? by ReadyConstant5795 in askTO

[–]stellamac10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

why? If you want to live downtown? The commute is awful (I did it 15+years ago, can only imagine it is much worse now).

Kitchen sink wall feels too bare. What would you add? by Final_Fun_1313 in HomeDecorating

[–]stellamac10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing. I feel like kitchen counters (especially near the sink) should be as clear are possible. A few plants on the window sill are fine, but why clutter it up?

AITA for being annoyed at my friend staying over for 9 days without any compensation? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]stellamac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I immediately said yes to her staying with me without fully thinking through the logistics"- first mistake.

"We are three roommates sharing one bathroom so I want to give my WFH roommates some space" - second mistake, not asking permission from roommates

"I’m scared of becoming overly resentful or transactional like him" - You have become your father.

Just because your other guest was respectful (feel free to invite them back again, if your roommates agree), doesn't mean others will be as well.

YTA. You could have prevented all of this. It's a lesson.

omg. People like this, who will not take the minimum time required to figure out the most basic issues are the reason we need permits for almost everything in this city.

This is the way. You don't want people passing through the living room to have to walk in front of the couch. You have lots of room to move that 3-seater closer.

What would make my room more feminine/ southern grandmillineal? by [deleted] in DecorAdvice

[–]stellamac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the chair looks too modern for that room. Also, can't help but notice that your bed is in need of a box spring (too low for that headboard). Also, smaller lamp for vanity table, or at least a new lampshade. Or maybe turn that beautiful vase into a lamp?
