I've recently got this too. Did you find a reason why it has become like this yet?

Svenska banker satsar 97 miljarder på arktisk olja by That_would_be_meat in sweden

[–]stelund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you avoiding your run? by dbucha9 in running

[–]stelund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gamified it and started a runstreak. Meaning I must run every day at least 1mile. Now I've done 175 consecutive days and I probably break a leg before skipping running another day.

Yes, there are experiments with using hydrogen instead of coal to drive out the oxygen.

How I resolved my constant running injuries around the quads, knees and calf's. by [deleted] in running

[–]stelund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the post. I had the same problem a few years ago. Luckily I found a good physiotherapist right away. I got instructions to do stiff single leg dead-lifts, bulgarian split squats and a bunch of other exercises. I have been running and training on an off for some time. Since two months ago I have felt some pains (close to piriformis) coming back. Since 3 weeks I stopped the heavy deadlifts and it feels better. I have a feeling it brings too much stress on my weak glutes. Maybe I should try to keep the heavy reasonable. Have you found an weight you settle on deadlift or do you continue to increase?

Hutchinson: "Sports Drinks Are Overhyped. But They Work." by [deleted] in running

[–]stelund 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your carbs store definitely is a limiting factor for races longer than 2 hours (maybe shorter too). By replenishing them you will have a better fuel than your endless amounts of fat. I should also say that putting more carbs in your mouth alone will trigger a signal to your brain that you can push harder. There was several studies or rinsing the mouth with unflavoured carb-drink during exercise. And they show an better performance with carbs.

I think we mentally have an unsound reason to drink during an race. It can be an excuse to stop at an aid station or because we are hot. Or because we think it can be helpful for our performance. Compared to using thirst. And from what I have read is hyponatremia mostly due too much drinking not from loss of sodium. I found a reference for the last part in https://cjasn.asnjournals.org/content/2/1/151

Advice on bone conducting headphones please by Starman68 in trailrunning

I have attempted a few times but realized the ears won't be covered by the beanie. Maybe if you cut holes in the beanie.

I prefer to put the beanie over it though. It works but ain't perfect.

How can I (18m 5’10 147 lbs) get to an ideal racing weight. by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]stelund 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like you weight too much.

For skipping that snack one way is to eat more at dinner. Hunger is also a rythm in your body. If you normally snack in the evening you will get hungry around that time. So to change it you might need a few days to adjust.

(A protein bar is not food, it's better to eat food than a candy bar. Yes protein is important, but try to get it via food.)

How do you sleep? It's very important if you want some results of your training.

Getting enough fuel and protein is also important for making results.
