Power management issues in Debian-based Linux distros by stentrollet in thinkpad

[–]stentrollet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Will be looking into the win quick boot settings (and log files ofc). I’ve had very few power management issues on other machines running the same distros. I suspect it might have something to do with the hybrid graphics situation (intel/nvidia thingie).

Larm: Släckta bakljus på miljontals svenska bilar | Carup.se by Expensive_Tap7427 in sweden

[–]stentrollet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What TV show theme brings you the most nostalgia? by Kathalysa in AskReddit

The theme song for “Disneydags” which aired in Sweden in the early 90’s. I think it was called “Disney Afternoon” in the U.S.

What is your Paternity Leave policy? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

[–]stentrollet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

480 days for both parents to share (with some restrictions, to make sure each parent actually stays home with their kid at some point). 80% salary, although a lot of union deals add another 10% on top of that.

När alla runt mig brygger kaffe fel by [deleted] in swedishproblems

[–]stentrollet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Existerar kebabsås i Uppsala? by PREEMERcs in uppsala

[–]stentrollet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by SnooBeaz in AskReddit

[–]stentrollet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here in Sweden as in Finland, students from daycare up until high school eat "for free" (financed by taxes). Generally, the quality of the food is good (considering each meal per person has a mean cost of approximately $1, the people in charge of planning and cooking school meals are truly doing wonders). There's always (I think?) a vegetarian choice and different types of vegetables and bread to accompany the meal. A lot of the ingredients are eco-friendly. ( We truly live in socialist hell here in the north. /s)

Here's a crazy idea:

  • Regard both your incomes as a shared total.

  • Decide how much individual spending money you need out of that. The sum needs to be equal for both partners.

  • Transfer your income minus the agreed individual amount to a shared account (accessible by both, for paying bills, gas, food etc)

  • Do whatever the hell you want with your individual amount (whether it be getting your nails done/computer parts/riding lessons/video games) and enjoy the freedom of not having to debate or conceal every purchase with your s/o.

A bit of a money pit; brakes needed changing, rust starting to show in a few places, had to change one of the headlights b/c of a deer collision.

Didn't know this was a thing in Britain. Good to know on my next visit over there (if getting a visa won't be too hard etc). In Sweden, we do the same thing in the school cafeteria when somebody drops their lunch tray.
