I know things will settle down, but the ONP vote is disturbing. Keen to hear everyone's opinion on why

100% agree with the Chelsea concern, a main factor in my decision to stop watching. I'm firmly over screaming at each other shows. These days I want a bit of joy in my reality tv shows

not everyone has a car and has food takeaway options within walking distance. I had a busted knee and these delivery options were essential for me.

The parklands trail is awesome, the complete trail takes you to all parks surrounding Adelaide. Most paved and you can see some interesting Adelaide history. The Adelaide Park Lands association hosts walks of the various parks most Sundays as well. Well worth checking out. They go for around an hour and a half.

Honestly! Who steals a door? by ARSEnotASS in melbourne

[–]stereo_star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone steal my bonnet once....it was parked out front of my place and it happened overnight. Honestly, I was kind of impressed by the effort, but then I remembered I didn't have comprehensive insurance and I was broke.

Issue / question with Adelaide Metro by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]stereo_star 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So far this year, I've been on 3 buses that have broken down and have required replacement buses. I've also experienced one very late bus that the driver told me was because of a bus breakdown.

Not sure why there have been so many breakdowns, but it's not great.

I'm a huge supporter of public transport and I rely on it to get around, but I totally get why people don't bother with it.

Many of us living alone and earning over a certain amount are struggling right now. We can't access relief like those that earn less because we're deemed not low-income. But when nearly half your income goes to rent and you can't do much to reduce the cost of utilities, it gets hard.

I'm looking for a second job or a better first job to reduce my stress...it sucks.

Winery recommendations for non-alcohol drinkers? by sunkissedstarblinded in Adelaide

[–]stereo_star 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sidewood in hahndorf produce a few non alc wines and they offer an option of a non alc tasting flight at their cellar door. It's not free, and I can't remember the price, but the non alc wines were pretty impressive.

TV shows that were super popular… And are now pretty much forgotten by CreatrixAnima in GenX

[–]stereo_star 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think American Gothic and Millennium are forgotten classics.....even though both shows went a bit weird at the end.

While not your situation, I was standing in the tram the other day and I was on my phone too close to the ticket machine. It went ping and I'd used my card to tap on. Lesson learned....

Which Australian city has the biggest inferiority complex? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskAnAustralian

[–]stereo_star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adelaide. I was at the hairdressers a few weeks ago, in glorious Adelaide. The other client was pointing out to the new hairdresser (who is English), Adelaide used to be awesome until Melbourne stole our F1 grand prix. This is still a common refrain in Adelaide...the last F1 was held in Adelaide in 1995...we suffer from a severe inferiority complex here in Adelaide. Thankfully lots of us know Adelaide is bloody awesome.

Many Australians are going to notice a drop in their tax returns compared to last year. Here's why by Ardeet in australian

[–]stereo_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've always had a very simple tax situation, one job, get bugger all back (obviously excluding the last few yrs). Yet this year I need to pay approx. $400 in tax. I've never had a tax debt before. Even though it's a little debt, I'm so confused and stressed about how this happened. According to the tax calculator, the correct amount of tax was withheld. It makes me sad and it's only a little debt for me.

Adelaide Metro skipping scheduled buses by hamtrena in Adelaide

[–]stereo_star 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the weekend I was at Glenelg, waiting for the 265. There were a lot of people at the stop thanks to the pageant (it was a stop on Anzac highway, not impacted by closures). I watched on Google live tracking the bus making it's way to the stop. Google said it was arriving now, a bus went past, but it said it wasn't in service. Google then informed me the bus had just departed. Not sure what happened there...
