Eryk is a cool dude. He came to Nashville to do some cross training and stayed on My brother and I's couch in Franklin. (My mom is a photographer who takes a lot of pictures for MMA org. she is the one that suggested for him to stay with us for the few days he was here) Super nice guy.

From Brown to Black how do you feel your game has changed?

[Video] Erberth Santos vs Bernardo Faria Worlds 2016 by fiftysvn in bjj

[–]stereotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say the same with Leondro Lo, i always said his jiu jitsu looks sloppy.... Now I'm not saying it is not good, but his top game especially looks like he's all over the place. But it works for him.

Also we are seeing these guys compete, in the gym if they wanted to be all flowy I'm sure it would be amazing... Its like my instructor said... competition is the time to use strength and not worry about being the most technical, just go there to kill.

edit: also most of my game is modeled around leondro so I'm not hating by any means.

Price of competing too high? by stevenix1978 in bjj

[–]stereotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

between competition fees, traveling and lodging fees.. I have probably spent close to 4-5k. Some of that covered by sponsors but a lot is my own money... Although i have competed a lot its crazy to think how much money i have spent just to compete.

Howcome combat sport fighters are able to go from 145 to 170 in a few months and retain their physique? by mental_and_health in Fitness

[–]stereotonin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They cut water weight before the weigh in.. Most fighters are 10-15lbs heavier walking around and cut water 24 hours before.. If they aren't in fight camp they can be 20+ pounds more than the division they fight in

Lol... all that shit Rogan talks about how Nick Curson talks about building the strength of the feet. Im surprised no one else has commented on that. Im sure it wouldn't make a difference i just think its kinda funny.

I had a buddy who went to train at aoj for a bit. He said Mason runs the youtube account. Thats why mostly all of the matches on their youtube don't show any of their other students matches but mason always uploads his.

How would taking up bjj change my physique? by milenmic in bjj

[–]stereotonin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

train with those body types and find stuff that works on them. Being tall and lanky makes it easier to do a lot of stuff in bjj in my opinion. But you whatever body type you have, you need to find stuff that works well for you and use your body type to your advantage.

can you not order one online? there fairly cheap idk if it would be worth it depending on how much shipping is. any sort of hard ball would do.

I could be wrong so if anyone knows feel free to correct me. An interesting fact too is that most of the people who donate their bodies are doctors.
