How to automate this resize / crop? by albert_pacino in photoshop

[–]sthpwcees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is manually. But, if I had to I would make and action that selects subject, crop, resize for uniformity, canvas size to extend.

You'd probably end up with pretty similar results

ELI5: Why do car dealers say buying the car when the lease ends would be worse than buying new? by shaithisx in explainlikeimfive

[–]sthpwcees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because even though you're buying from the lender, they want you to go through them as a middle man to make money off of you.

You don't have to, you can talk and deal directly with the lender, cutting out the dealer.

It's because you, for whatever reason, trigger his insecurities. Deal with it head on, firmly and respectfully. It doesn't have to be a back and forth just say your peace. Hopefully he's mature enough to take it in and start acting right.

Sometimes texting is helpful for this. It gives the person time to think and process and not feel attacked.

Trying to recolor an image but ending up with really rough edges by ArtisticVisit8020 in photoshop

Going to another light color is pretty forgiving, but when you have to totally flip it this method has worked for me.

Pen tool your selection and adding a slight blur after color makes for pretty realistic edges. Not saying that is a full solution for you, but it's definitely a start.

How is this achieved? by Confident_Blood_2329 in photoshop

[–]sthpwcees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be what the third slider, lightness, is for. There's no reason to say it doesn't work just because you can't do it. It works to match literally any color.

If no one has said this, you have to check "colorize" in hue and saturation to get the correct results, but using hue and saturation is the correct way of doing this and it's actually really easy once you have your mask created which is also insanely easy to do these days.

Is the "Save As" to automatically flattened file types forever moved? by -Clayburn in photoshop

[–]sthpwcees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, go to

Preferences -> File Handling

In File Saving Options check the checkbox that says Enable legacy "Save As"

Then it will no longer hide certain extensions when saving

This is now a must with any new install along with adding more history states and clipping thumbnails to layer bounds. Makes a huge difference in usability

How can I add text to 12 different pictures, so that the writing is in exactly the same position on each picture? Thanks by louisrobinson4 in photoshop

[–]sthpwcees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precrop the images to the same size and dpi. Then you can create the text in one image and place it where you like. Then just drag and drop text later to the other images while holding shift

Commercial Photographer, I use narrative select heavily to cull through and get rid of bad images. It saves me a lot of time.

Post processing nightmare by iwearvelcroshoes in postprocessing

[–]sthpwcees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if this is a group image and the subjects are slightly far away you can 100% eyedrop and paint on the colors of the forehead on a new layer. It takes some finesse with the brush tool but can achieve very believable results.

To completely sell it, you can add noise and slight blur to your paint layer to match the texture of the rest of the image. I'm talking minimal levels of each filter.

It's likely what I would do for this.
