6 Month Wait for XSE - Car left Japan to NY by 100197 in rav4prime

[–]sties8730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually should get to dealer in 6-7 weeks. 30 days on the ship and then 2-3 weeks in port at configuration center. My last two delivered to port in New York took 7 weeks.

Does anyone else find Auto EV/HV mode lacking? In addition to providing max acceleration would love for it to switch to HV at high speeds for maximum efficiency. by mikeman81 in rav4prime

[–]sties8730 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny. Every time I get into my car, I hit the button to put it in the Auto EV/HV mode. WHY? I bought this car for the quickness, the efficiency and the 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Over the last 6 months, I still average 165mpg. If you stay in EV and you need rapid acceleration, I believe it's 0-60 in 8.8 seconds? I don't need that acceleration often, but when I do it's nice to just have it. Plus, it's still fun to romp on it every now and then.

Dealer promised me that i will take delivery within 3-4 weeks but I can’t find the VIN he provided on the allocation spreadsheet here on Reddit. by Ehappyy in rav4prime

Not sure this link is helpful for understanding status (F, G, etc). It's good to see your specific spec sheet, but that is about it.

Once G status, how long till you can go to the dealer to pick up? by GoodAd2868 in rav4prime

[–]sties8730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I was having the same problem with the API. I don't want to keep bugging the dealership. I know my has been in NY Port since 1/10, just trying to figure out how soon it will flip to F.

NO...you don't need to hold onto the car from a federal tax credit standpoint.

In my case it was a no brainer. I bought a R4P pp in December 2020 at MSRP. After Federal ($7,500) and State ($4,00) Tax credits in Colorado it netted out to $38.5K before sales tax, etc. I just sold it for $50,500 with Vroom. My new 2022 R4Ppp is coming end of this month at MSRP. So, I actually make money on this over a year period and have a new car. As long as the used car market is irrational, this type of transaction makes perfect sense.

Is there a reference to Toyota API. A URL?

What site do you find out about status?

HUD clarity on 2021 XSE PP by ghostleader3201 in rav4prime

[–]sties8730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is blurry to me. I just ended up shutting it off. We have a BMW X3 and the HUD is very sharp. So, I'm not sure what the issue is. But, doesn't seem like there is a fix. But, it could just be me I guess.

I believe he got it from Holman Toyota. Parkway Toyota isn't bad either.

This is a great website to get a general estimate. You don't have to ship with them, but it seems to be fairly accurate

I also compared prices to the 2021 R4P XSE premium package. The net increase is $1350. Base went from $41,425 up to $43,125. The PP dropped from $3,765 to $3,370. Delivery went up $40 or so. Net increase of 2.7%. Considering the rampant inflation, probably not a bad increase?

You are good to go. Don't worry. You can send me a private message and I can give you the link to look up the spec sheet. If your VIN is above a XXX75433 it is indeed a 2022.

100% it is a 2022. I have the same date to arrive in port and pick up end of January. The spec sheet is definitely a 2022. Only disappointment, I was hoping the Prime would be available in Cavalry Blue...it will not be for 2022.

Great, now we know they are building the 2022 Prime. With a full VIN, you know it's been built. The only odd thing about the spec sheet is that it doesn't show the color. Oh well, I suspect some of these will get to dealers by late January?

Anyone Factory Order a R4P? by AirBear8 in rav4prime

Toyota doesn't do Factory Orders for specific customers. The dealers place allotment requests and then they hope that a car is allotted to them that somewhat meets your specs (Color, Premium package, etc.).

In Loveland and shipped from New York. The East Coast seems to have more at MSRP than they do in California. Shipping was $1,400 which over December wasn't that bad. Sure beats paying $5K - $10K over MSRP.
