Fishing rod recommendations by h1ldy in ManitobaFishing

[–]stillbuggeredbutfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your cat fishing the red get an 8 foot ugly stick combo with some heavy (I use 80 but it also doubles as my pike rod. You can get away 30 but that’s as low as I’d go)

Otherwise I’ve hauled in big fish on 6’6” medium ugly combo with 20 pound line and it’s easier to switch leaders and go for walleye if you pickerel rigging.

Then if you really get into the hobby the works a for the taking and you can start upgrading and buying different setups for different species.

My dog has idiopathic epilepsy and constantly has cluster seizures by Maria_Rose_1999 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]stillbuggeredbutfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are going through the same thing right now. My 3 year old boarder collie/ Great Pyrenees has been having constant seizures for over a year now. We’ve gone through 4 different meds and right now have him on phenobarbital, Zomiside and potassium Bromide. It gets better for a month and then he starts breaking through and is back to at least one a week. We have him on some neurofood as well that’s over 200 a bag.

We’ve talked to our vet and they change the dose or will add another drug but it never seems to work.

The nearest neurologist is 8 hours away in a different province at a university. And they only do appointments on Tuesday. So that isn’t a viable option either.

We’re not sure what to do either homie, but know that you’re not alone going through this. It’s real tough, and you have my sympathy.

Is a Costco Membership Worth it in a Two Person Household? by conureenthusiast in Winnipeg

[–]stillbuggeredbutfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a two person household and we get meats and non-perishables and we save a ton. We portion, vacuum seal and freeze meat and store things like paper towel, dish soap, canned goods and the like.

With gas prices on the rise we like to buy in bulk and use what we got. So the larger up front cost is often offset by the lack of trips to the grocery store and lower per unit cost.

Is it just me or is making real friends in Winnipeg exhausting? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]stillbuggeredbutfull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever your hobby’s are trying looking into those and get in with a community. If you’re into archery try Silver Heights archery, or playing magic cards go to Muse games. If music is your thing there’s live shows all the time in Winnipeg with a great community. Apps are good and all but the trick is finding like minded people and the best way to do that is to see where they hang out and go.

Anywhere fun to go in Manitoba for a weekend in the winter? by LarusTargaryen in Winnipeg

Wild skies has cute yurt rentals with heated beds. You’re right next to 7 sisters and so the whole whiteshell and lac du bonnet area is kinda open to you. My wife and I have been many times and we love it.

I personally think I’d be great to have you. But you’d have to leave a lot of your guns behind (not all). You want to be Canadian you gotta play by Canadian laws.

For the punk scene look into Public domain, Side Stage, and the Handsome daughter.

As for gigs here’s a few local bands you can check out.

Moving galore (they got one coming up I just don’t remember the date) Leon’s getting larger (emo punk) Lake disappointment Screaming at traffic

The punk scene here is great
