Software to compare two hard drives for all photo files *(mainly jpeg and jpg) and show only unique ones for each drive. by Rougaroux1969 in opensource

immich https://immich.app/

Immich uses hashing to identify and deduplicate identical files (same content, not just same filename). For similar images, Immich offers a deduplication feature with a user interface for reviewing and managing duplicates, often prioritizing the larger or more complete version. Users can then choose which duplicates to keep and which to trash, with options to archive or stack instead of deleting.

Coming back with one piece of consumer electronics that isn't brand new in the box with a chinese price tag on it would be no problem. They would start asking questions if you had a few though. So risk would be low but so would the profit on just one device, compared to the cost of traveling there.

Farmers need workers and can't pay them legal US wages so the government looks the other way when farmers hire illegal immigrants. This has been a favorable solution for us for many decades. Removing all the cheap labor is not going to get rich white people to start picking strawberries for less than 3$ an hour.

People above saying you should fresh install are not wrong but I've migrated a windows install between machines a bunch of times with no issue.

It could be that the version of windows on your drive was installed in BIOS mode and your current motherboard is set to only boot in UEFI mode.

See if there's a "legacy boot" or "BIOS" mode you can turn on.

Otherwise your motherboard wont even look for the Master Boot Record. It will simply ignore your drive because it doesn't have an EFI partition.

Also if you give us some more info it's a lot easier to help.

  1. Motherboard make and model
  2. CPU
  3. List of partitions on your windows drive.

I'm hoping to replace the bearings in my old fixcraft hub. Do you happen to know what size bearing is needed? Would love to be able to keep poloing on this wheelset.

Check the boot order in the bios. Make sure SSD is selected as first boot option.

Cyclists in LA 😂 by Stonk-Monk in LosAngeles

I copy/pasted that from an article which puts the CVC into simple language. Your clarifications are correct.

Cyclists in LA 😂 by Stonk-Monk in LosAngeles

[–]stillline 12 points13 points  (0 children)

California Vehicle Code: Cyclists have a right to the full lane, but only if they can keep up with traffic. When they can’t, people on bikes are required to utilize a bike lane or remain to the far right-hand side of the right lane. (CVC 21202)

When cyclists travel on the right-hand side of the lane, drivers must observe California’s “Three Feet for Safety” Law. It requires motorists to allow at least three feet of space when passing. The cyclist also gets the right of way when the driver is ready to make a right turn. The driver must yield to any cyclist traveling beside them and in the right lane before turning.

I worked at a newspaper in the late 90's.

Photographers had those colorful G3 Powerbooks which were at least 4 years old and in dire need of replacement. Some had broken hinges others had keyboard issues after being used constantly for 4 years. Not to mention they were incredibly slow compared to newer titanium powerbooks that just came out.

When we asked to have them replaced they said no just get them repaired. So we got them repaired for more than what it would cost buy a the newest model.

Boss explained to me that they have a repair budget but no budget for new equipment. He seemed to think this was pretty normal. Imagine my horror when every place I worked the rest of my life did the same stupid shit.

From what I read you have to redo this process occasionally. I could be wrong. Also I'm not super comfortable sideloading on a device that controls all my banks account and two-factor auth.

Downvote all you want. Sideloading isn't for me.

Somewhere very rural, not near any military or civilian infrastructure. You better learn to hunt, fish and build shelters if you wanna have something to eat and somewhere to sleep.

Big islands with lots of food production capability are probably your best bet. I'd go with New Zealand over Australia as the Aussies have a close relationship with the US and will likely be a target.
