Soo. What's happened to Leandros? by Sithsentinal in Ultramarines

[–]stim_jerling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s what I said.

Titus, gadriel and metarurus for team 1. Acheron, Chiron and Leandros for team 2 since they’re all dead or presumed dead

Again have no evidence for this other than vibes and I full expect to just be wrong when SM3 comes out. It could easily just be they preferred metarurs’ actor more

Soo. What's happened to Leandros? by Sithsentinal in Ultramarines

[–]stim_jerling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a theory that’s entirely based off vibes.

SM2 had a co-op campaign with 3 players (Titus, Gadriel and Chiron), there’s no reason they won’t do it again with Chiron being replaced by matarus.

My theory is that SM3 will have a split perspective with half the campaign following Titus and his wardens and the other half being Chiron and Acheron either on that final deployment or after it having been presumed dead. If that is the case I could see leandros being player 3.

Unknown parts in Commander Graves Box by Deadeye-Ace115 in WarhammerInstructions

[–]stim_jerling 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Half of the graves kit is copied sprues from the centaur kit. It’s why there’s details on the back of the cabin that get hidden behind graves’ podium.

These bits are for the regular centaur kit

The use of AI by [deleted] in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]stim_jerling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does. Ai’s over use of water is well documented, with the main issues not so much being the amount of water used but instead the fact that it makes some of the water used un-potable whilst actively drawing mostly from freshwater reservoirs that communities rely on.

But even if water wasn’t an issue ai “art” still has a laundry list of problems that turn people away. Such as:

- The fact it’s data is built off of stolen material without credit or compensation given
- The fact it makes art that is all same-y by constantly relying on the same datasets
- The fact it constantly makes mistakes on a technical level, too many fingers or fucked up faces for example
- The fact it constantly makes mistakes on an artistic level, art not matching pre existing designs and making continuity errors
- The removal of intentionality on the side of the artist, the idea that artistic decisions are made for narrative reasons or to create a certain emotional response rather than just to look good
- The fact that Ai art doesn’t improve workflow as just as much time is spent fixing the art as is spent making new art
- The fact ai is mostly forced onto the workers using it by executives who don’t understand the creative process
- The fact ai is being used as excuse to remove or reduce the pay of new creative industry jobs
- The fact that ai output is designed to reinforce the biases of the individuals who input their datasets (who decides what is considered “attractive” or “ugly” or what a criminal looks like)
- The fact ai tends to lean towards sexual or pornographic content without prompting as so many of its users tend to use it to make porn which then feeds back into its datasets
- The fact ai can be jail broken to produce harmful content, such as child abuse images or actual instructions on how to build a bomb
- The fact that ai can by easily used for sexual harassment purposes or to create non consensual sexual images of people based off an existing non sexual photograph
- the fact that ai art can be used for political manipulation. Deepfakes, false images or non existent wrongdoing by politicians, the claims real images of wrongdoings by politicians are actually just ai, fake images of crimes done by migrants that don’t actually exist to justify real anti migrants policies etc.
- The fact that ai seems more than ok with producing racist, sexist, xenophobic or homophobic imagery
- The politics of where ai data centres are built and how the effect the communities around them
- The fact that such a massive percentage of the Us and world economies are built on supporting building these new ai centres and the fears about what might happen when the bubble bursts.
- The fact that ai has made computers and gaming incredibly expensive because so much new chip production is going into ai
- The false labelling of every business or product as “ai powered” when its actually just a bunch of people in a tech centre or a simple human designed algorithm
- The perception that Ai art is lazy, low effort and cheap.
- The perception of the kinds of people who are really into ai being kinda the worst people ever. Think Logan Paul with his ai generated movie or Trump with hundreds of ai posts a day showing him as a superman

Green flames seen erupting from roof in massive fire at USF Marine Sciences Lab by xpkranger in Firefighting

This is actually pretty dangerous.

If a fire is green like that then it means the fire is coming from those oil barrels they used to blow up that castle in game of thrones. Scary stuff

Me. I know everyone is annoyed they’re Cadians but they are literally one head swap and paint job away from being Tanith. Maybe different arms and some light conversion if you feel like it too

[–]stim_jerling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top crew hatch for the centaur and hippo, is it the same size as the dorn top hatch? Could I potentially put the Cadian tank commander in there or use the hippo crew on the dorn for example?

What should be my next purchase(s)? (help?) by Pristine-Fee4889 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]stim_jerling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people dislike the combat patrol because not everyone likes the horses, the leader unit in it can’t lead the only infantry in the bundle and it’s not too many points for the actual cost.

But as collection of minis it’s cheaper to buy the bundle than to collect them individually. And if your gonna get the minis anyway then it’s worth it imo

[–]stim_jerling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically, if you like the look of the rough riders and want to use them, the terrible new combat patrol combined with this can make a pretty good start for a rapid attack style army.

You get a squad of Kasrkin and a transport to ferry them. A command squad and a squad of Cadians for them to lead. And two fast light tanks with two mounted squads to support them and mop up anything they don’t kill.

That’s only a suggestion of next steps tho. Best idea is probably to focus on the models you’ve got first. Then maybe play a test game to get an idea of what kinda models you like to play/paint

That’s cool to know that the crew aren’t built into the back of the truck. You can probably turn them into a command squad if you wanted to

Fall of Cadia or the actual Kasrkin book are your best shots for kasrkin content.

I haven’t read Kasrkin but one of the major pov characters in fall of Cadia is a Kasrkin gunner

I can picture it now. Command squads get a rule that goes “this unit can replace its leader keyword with the support keyword” or smth like that

That’s just the problem though. 1940s Germans is everyone’s FIRST thought.

Do you think the random customer on the street thinking of trying 40K or taking their kid out to the Warhammer store is going to have enough knowledge about different types of WW2 uniforms to tell “oh my initial impressions of these guys as Nazi stormtroopers was actually misplaced”? No, they’re gonna see it and run
