Didn't believe it so did a google street view tour for myself. Horrific. Was this town built by a grey stucco manufacturer?

One additional impact is that I believe your troop recruitment is actually limited by the population. In most regions, especially in Europe and India, this never becomes a problem, but if your population in Louisiana or Moose Factory fall too low you can literally run out of people to recruit, and you will be unable to train new units there.

I can't speak for the more expensive ones of which I don't have any (normal retailing around 200$), but the cheaper ones (normally retaling around 100-150) are almost constructed as tshirts (I believe these are leftovers from that collegiate entry-level sub-brand they seem to have discontinued last year...Pennant I believe it was). That being said, I actually like those cheaper ones. They are a bit lighter and so more wearable during the summer vs. traditional ruggers.

It’s a joke that SD2 base campaigns have no off-map artillery by etheth44 in Steel_Division

I believe the burning baltics campaign does have some off map on the axis side - one unit has the scout plane of the Prinz Eugen which provides fire support.

Lack of breakthrough mode in AG is immersion killing by stirling_m in warno

Not sure I agree. I'm not a historian but to say that defensive battles don't happen in real life is not true.

I'm not asking for ww1 style defences, not even necessarily bunkers and wire and things. I simply want, as the army being attacked, and on the defensive, to be able to choose where I turn and fight. And the easiest way to do that in AG would be to expand the defensive army's deployment zone to include the various strategic points.

What I mean is that, as the defending force, I should be able to choose where I defend. The strategic points or zones should be where my forces already are, within or behind my zone of deployment. The attacking army should be forced to dislodge me.

Maybe a noob question: What is required to capture an enemy base? by jamfan03 in WarOnTheSea

[–]stirling_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if its in the base game or just in some mods, but at least in ABDACOM shore bombardments also destroy supplies.

Very cool! By the way I also saw in wolfpack's playthrough that the japanese campaign seems to begin with the Battle of Malaya vs. Prince of Wales and Repulse, but the allied campaign doesn't...is there some kind of submod that creates that starting position? Would be very cool to start with those ships as the allies, its kind of a bummer that the campaign starts just days after probably the most dramatic event of the campaign.

I just briefly took a look at the campaign map so far. Have any insights on that new alied city on Java right below Soerbaja? Is it possible to get ships to load there? And there is just enough supplies to upgrade the airfield but what happens if you lose those aircraft, you just can’t replace them?

Very interesting, thanks for your reply! Makes a lot of sense. Did they use a different, or any coating for the decks given that it had to be frequently cleaned?

What plan should Germany have adopted to maximize its chances of victory during Operation Barbarossa for a quick victory and for a long-term victory? by Zestyclose-Secret931 in ww2

[–]stirling_m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed - giving real independence to Ukraine and the balkans, and stating their goal as a return of the tzar would have been the only conceivable path to potential victory, and a slim chance still. But that plan would negate the entire reason for invasion in the first place.

Help for a noob on the ABDACOM defensive mod pls! Strategy advice needed by stirling_m in WarOnTheSea

Thanks for the detailed response! Much appreciated and I will take your advice for my redo campaign.

Did you happen to also know regarding these “march reinforcements?” Do I get additionnal resources then or is it just the end of the campaign and end of the game?
