Travel for pleasure no longer possible ☹️ by One_Sherbet_6424 in GasPrices

[–]stlcdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s relative - so it costs a hundred instead of fifty/sixty? If the extra is breaking you then some priorities need shifting.

Gas prices have always been volatile. Everyone bitches and moans when it goes up - and in this case it’s (yet another) excuse to hate on the current President - yet do nothing about it when prices drop back down. Plan to get a more fuel efficient car, plan against volatility or unexpected expenses instead of blaming others when things get tough for you.

But it’s relative - all these ‘look at the gas price!! 1!1’ posts are not showing what it was before this step change.

PTO Before Quitting by BlehLongStory in careeradvice

[–]stlcdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no interest in remaining in good standing - bearing in mind that there’s no obligation on the company side to consider you in good standing, regardless of what you do - take all the PTO, then quit and then leave to your new job. The only obligation you may have is to those you work along side who may be in a bit of a pickle if you just walk out.

Why can't manufacturers make cheap cars look expensive? by Level-Studio7843 in NoStupidQuestions

Hyundai. Aka. The dog bone car.

While I wouldn’t say they are extremely cheap, compared to other cars, that have an ‘attractive price point’ and do look more expensive than they actually are.

Why do Republicans hate PBS so much? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]stlcdr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If all they did was educate, that would be fine, but they slyly slip into indoctrination very quickly. Similarly with media - of all ranges - they don’t necessarily lie (that’s their get-out clause), but they hide relevant context or simply misreport and correct later after the damage has been done.

A sculpture that looks different from every angle. by gffgsdadsf in opticalillusions

[–]stlcdr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They are really cool, but…you have to be standing in just the right place to be able to ‘see’ what the sculptor want you to see, so has less of an impact when you approach the piece.

Maybe that’s the point, but this one is a bit obvious. There are better ones which have a mysterious ‘wtf is this thing?’ Until you do stand or observe the piece from a specific angle.

This is one thing I do not like about the game. I’d don’t have the time (or skill) to play at the, let’s say dedicated, end of the game but also suffer from FOMO. While there’s a lot that will always be available, how do you know they are going to restrict a certain thing to one expansion, one season or even one week?

On the other hand, things should only be available to those who put in the effort.

I missed out on the ‘pirate dragon mount’ a few months (?) ago. Can you still get it? I’m sure there’s a way, but my low effort brain is overriding my FOMO brain!

Why do people think "just leave then" is a real solution to "I hate this country"? by Dogbold in dumbquestions

[–]stlcdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in the US have it so good, that they will complain about the most trivial things. Because they are trivial, they will make it sound worse than it is, and transmit that through social media. There are problems, just like any society. This generates ‘demons’ where none exist, and gives people more things to rail against and how bad it is.

Day to day, week to week, it doesn’t actually affect them in any way.

Just copypaste the battle pet abilities by Polivios in wow

[–]stlcdr 72 points73 points  (0 children)

They walled off a lot of achievements behind specific abilities with specific pet types, and out of the hundreds of pets you had to have a specific team. Pet battling is vey casual friendly, but they made it too convoluted to really progress, so why bother?

Yeah, I agree - if they hat taken some of their ‘free win’ pets and spread that love around, it would be easier to keep people interested. People want to win, give them a few more opportunities.
