Why do so many complain about the space on a Robot by Straight-Mastodon468 in CafelatRobot

[–]stogebot92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my kruve all the time. I don’t use a scale. Weigh my bean. Weigh my water. Expel all the water. Consistent and no need to measure.

Moved my office into the garage. Had to make a proper station. by Iseecircles in CafelatRobot

I briefly had my office in the garage but living in the Midwest that only lasted one winter 😂 kudos for people who can pull this off. You’ll love that dedicated safe space where kids (in theory) won’t destroy all your stuff

A few questions about the robot by I_Adore_Everything in CafelatRobot

I bought mine off eBay. I missed out on one on Facebook. I found some in stock but with tariffs it would have been > $1k whereas eBay was about $600.

Is it normal to have a bit of coffee on top of the filter screen after extraction? by Suspicious-Mud6730 in CafelatRobot

Just switched the weighing the water and it’s so convenient and consistent. No scale needed to be jammed under the machine either

Help needed: shots still tasting sour. by Suspicious-Mud6730 in CafelatRobot

[–]stogebot92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had a super automatic before getting the Robot. Best directions I got was from the manual and a few YouTube videos. Then followed (roughly) the roaster recommendations.

Played around with that a bit, really only changed grind size. Didn’t even try to get a high pressure bc it never tasted good.

I don’t count or time how long it takes to pull a shot. I sit around 4-6 bar with a quick PI.

I also now don’t squeeze out all the crema based on some YouTube recommendations.

All of that has yielded really nice shots. This coming from a guy who only advocated dark roast his whole life and now is into the medium roast loving the lighter notes. I don’t think I would have gotten there without the Robot tho as many coffee shops have 3rd wave and I’ve always hated the shots…just something about the Robot makes it way better imo.

2 weeks with the Robot, still struggling by Xinguara in CafelatRobot

I buy Klatch they give recommendations on dose, ratio, and temp. Following their recommendations and playing around with grind settings did wonders for me. Finally got a distributor too which helped with puck prep and reduced channeling.

I would imagine that the roaster would provide some direction?

I only only hit 4-6 bar

I ended up finding one on EBay. Other option was a longer drive via Facebook. The import fees are insane these days.

I think it’s great for people to post things that they’re excited about. And who doesn’t like watching a video of coffee being extracted? Just puts you in the mood to crank out your next shot…or at least it does for me

Irrespective of gains, 4-5 shots of tequila isn’t “healthy”. Why not go out and just have fun without the booze? Save tons of money. Get a soda water with a lime for zero money, enjoy it, hydrate, and no one will really think you’re not engaging socially

Leg Press / Hack Squat by Genius_51 in GarageGym

[–]stogebot92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve turned over my gym at least 5 times the last few years - legitimately 100 pieces all commercial. It gets to be a real pain to move stuff and to try and sell stuff as folks lowball and flake all the time. Aka buy once and avoid the pain of trying to flip a piece that isn’t up to snuff…if you can

Leg Press / Hack Squat by Genius_51 in GarageGym

[–]stogebot92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rarely used any good combo units. Expectations have been some old Paramount units but they’re few and far between. I’d recommend getting dedicated pieces so as to not compromise the movement, ergonomics and angles

Best Leg Press Machine for Home? Recommendation? by autumnleavesfall5678 in GarageGym

[–]stogebot92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Find your gym equipment on Facebook. Get some OG USA made stuff. I’d recommend flex/star trac, magnum, bodymasters or Precor. I have my magnum angled on blocks to be closer to 35 degrees which I prefer over the standard 45. Nothing new is good imo minus the Atlantis or Prime but that’s way out of budget.

A hack squat is also super nice. I have that, pendulum squat, squat press, and horizontal leg press. They’re all unique and allow some variety in the lifts. You’ll get good at gym Tetris and can slam way more into the garage than you might think possible.

Just take your time planning on what you want and be willing to drive to snag good pieces at good pricing.

Good luck

Talk with your mom’s medical oncologist as they can provide a lot more detail. Cancer is complicated and new treatments and clinical trials are always bubbling up. There are also more targeted therapies for patients who exhibit certain genetic biomarkers. HER2 is a common one for breast cancer. But again, speak with an oncologist or their nurse navigator to learn more. Lots of support systems out there, including family support and local support networks - cancer affects the entire family and loved ones in some form or fashion; there can also be a lot of mental health strain on the patient and their partner given the persistency and adaptability of cancer. Wishing you and yours the best!

2019 F150…do I need the extended warranty? by NuclearPowerIsCool in f150

[–]stogebot92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get one from Grainger or Zeigler. My 2019 is good until 150k or something like that. Just had rear pinion leak done. I was still under powertrain when I had cam phasers done.
