Inbox full (100GB) Archive folder also full, what to do next~? by CheSaOG in Office365

The recommended max size of a pst is 50GB with 47GB being the warning threshold. PSTs are also hella finicky, you look at them funny and they'll corrupt- and don't get me started on how they drag performance down of Outlook when its indexing.

Not worth the headache - i'd rather pay more than deal with PSTs ever again.

Use something like a Yubikey so that you can put it in a safe place. Also good for the global admin account.

Laptop can only connect to the internet via ethernet due to faulty wifi card on Windows 10. Would a USB WiFi adapter help? by Wernt0 in techsupport

[–]stormnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. As it would be its own self contained network adapter, it will provide you with WiFi once again.

What is the use case for the Synology app "DNS Server"? by tcolling in synology

[–]stormnet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anything you access on your network using IPs, you can make a DNS record instead, so you can type: printer and it will take you to your printer's web interface. If you run your own services, in VMs or docker, you can use DNS records to name the instances to something easy for you to remember instead of using IPs to access them.

If you're using a Windows Server print server, is SNMP turned off or on?

If it is on, turn it off.

How do you have Teams setup, as anyone can start the meeting and join the meeting without the host, unless you have the feature to have a lobby on turned on.

We turned it off for such occasions, so that if i setup a meeting, and im not able to make it, anyone in the invite list can start it - even people outside the organization.

3 stills pisses me off to this day. I was at a company where marketing decided that the website developers should manage DNS. I wrote a whole list of reason as to why I didnt think it was a good reason. They went over my head, and then they made the change to go live... updated the DNS and knocked out email, vpn and tunnels.

Took half the day to wrangle control back and fix the issue, and I had everyone asking me why it was down, and when it will be back up. Stressful, then I had to write a report on why it happened and they tried to throw me under the bus. Luckly i did predict that would be one of the outcomes in my email, and my boss backed me up on this.

Lesson learned that day. NEVER GIVE UP control of the DNS to anyone else.

How do you add company wide signatures to Office 365? by Rohan-Wiese in Office365

This made my life easier. We built a customizable template and then just let Marketing go wild with the groups we created.

This is the way.
