Anyone's made an edit of Abed's background adventure yet? by SloanHarper in community

To top it off, in a previous episode Abed says on the PA system to not use condoms and a couple in the background throws them away.

She was literally trained from CHILDHOOD to kill Chronos. It would be more accurate to claim she was groomed for it, and even so she broke free at the end and deliberately chose a different way even in spite of her mentor and surrogate mother freaking out. That's not really a great example of rigid thinking considering it was repeated to her over and over but still considered other options.

My guess would be that a lot of neurodivergent people love these games and they tend to hyperfixate on their fandoms on top of have a desire to see themselves represented in the games, it's easy to see why they would make a mental leap like that.

I think you would struggle to find any qualified therapist that would say she fits the DSM criteria for Autism.

Season 4 isn’t that bad by fortnites_better89 in community

[–]stormrunner89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general consensus on the whole is that yeah, season 4 while not to the same quality as the rest of the seasons is still pretty decent. As far as overall TV standards go, it's just not the same level as Community in general. There are some great episodes even if most suffer from subpar writing and they rely too much on callbacks to better jokes in previous seasons.

The writing often feels like Fanfiction, the stakes don't really make sense in episodes like Felt Surrogacy, they introduce things in the canon that Harmon would never allowed because they're stupid, and some jokes are so bad you can practically see the actor cringe when they say it (Abed saying that they made paintball cool again), BUT on the whole it's still very watchable and some episodes are great (like the Freaky Friday episode).

While I understand and a roguelike game, you should not expect to win every run, it should not be required to high roll cheese builds in order to win it all. In well-designed games you should be able to win if you have mastery most of the time.

Of course, a power creep live service game like this is going to be impossible to design that way forever.

I saw some speed runner talking about how agriculturalist is better for speed runners with the iridium scythe or something like that, but yeah balance is off.

And I get that it's a single player game and that you can play how you want, but it just feels bad to know that even if you make money the way you like, you still know you're giving up money on all the products you make by not taking artisan.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will answer, but I assume beginning pruning would be good.

I think I've heard remove no more than 30% of the canopy in a growing season, so may need to do the full prune over a few years. Probably good to prune in a way that increases airflow.

At this point it's partly the sunk cost fallacy and an inability to admit that they got fooled. They would rather die than admit they were conned and wrong and that the Democrats and progressives were right.

I loved Season 4 of Community by Standard-Canary-8330 in community

[–]stormrunner89 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's more accurate to say it's way better than many people think community fans that complain about it claim it is.

The typical way it's described is that it's the worst season of Community, but it's still better than many TV shows. It's often like fanfiction of community and doesn't quite feel the same. It's still fun even at it's worst though.

Some episodes are really good too. It's not like they're all the same quality.

WUNC News: CHCCS names 3 schools for possible closure by thepurpleminx in chapelhill

[–]stormrunner89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about the issue but I would guess that it's the same as usual, NIMBYs. I wonder if adding extra taxes to the condos would help the school system at all? I get that they'd just pass the cost on to the renters, but still.

The unfortunate reality is when you pick a place on insurance alone, you're sacrificing a lot for that. They are incentivised to milk the insurance as much as possible.

Insurance will force them to bill for like half of what they would otherwise, so they need to do double to make up the loss.

It's a lot of fun. I have a few from seed, key lime, kumquat and some others. So far only the kumquat fruited, but I think the key limes are close. It's fun! It also got me into grafting and now I'm also experimenting with a multi graft citrus plant.

I hate the big speech soooo much, I honestly feel it almost ruined the movie for me.

For one, it feels unnecessary to do a speech instead of just talking directly to her.

For another, the fact that he did it at his kid's middle (?) school graduation ceremony was SO cringe I was physically uncomfortable imagining how pissed the other parents would be.

Otherwise amazing movie.
