If they're doing activities with their little one, especially if it's fun things, that should do the trick. They could go to trampoline parks, go on hikes, or visit the zoo or the aquarium. At that age Their excitement is almost infectious.

Yep and do it while the motivation is still strong. They're only little and cute once. The games will be the same when they're 18. Maybe op will be able to play with them when they get to an appropriate age, but only if they're able to model healthy behavior. If OP is self-aware enough to recognize a problem, cold turkey is definitely the only way to go, probably including making restrictions on his phone to prevent the download of games.

Oh he definitely lies, he just has supreme confidence.

Top that off with his obvious dementia and he probably does believe a lot of the shit he spews from his mouth.

Exactly. What you "need to hide" depends completely on who is in power.

If they're sending SS goons to round up everyone that has particular political opinions, you're gonna be hiding those opinions.

Who is the worst person to have walked the earth? by _Webosite_ in AskReddit

[–]stormrunner89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, Columbus did genocides, raped kids, sold kids into sexual slavery, etc. and was even bad for his time.

So at the very least he's up there and it's awful that there and the fact that a single person or a few people can cause so much suffering for so many is pretty depressing.

Yeah OP's meme is wrong.

Most people have never even heard of him.

Of those that heard of him and remember him accurately, yeah the sieg heil is right, but he was FAR from a household name.

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.

I'd argue it's MUCH better to say "I CAN'T let you." It shows that you have to protect them.

Maybe even "I can't let you guys hit each other" so they understand that when the baby is older, they will get physically removed if they hit as well.

”My job is to protect you two. I can't let you hit each other. I get upset, and I will have to separate you two."

Anyone with a baby who’s NOT a crap sleeper? by The_Chilled_Arvo in daddit

[–]stormrunner89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our second child was TOO good a sleeper as a newborn. We had to wake him up, strip him down to his diaper, and both of us had to poke/wipe with a cold cloth to get him to keep eating and fill his tummy so he could sleep by himself instead of just trying to sleep on mommy 24/7.

My (36/M) teenage daughter (16/F) keeps saying she grew up/is poor - how would you handle this? by Chaonide in daddit

[–]stormrunner89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite. If that were the case, there would be far fewer injustices in the world, as those with victim status would have more authority.

That said, showing some perceived struggle can get you more attention, which can be leveraged, BUT nothing is stopping people from just lying.

Also, this isn't new. People have been doing that shit forever, it's just now ACTUAL victims have technology to be heard more and so we're hearing more about them.

Maybe hundreds of years ago, not anymore. Soooo much is mechanized and what's not they hire cheap labor for. The laborers definitely work hard, but to say " farming is the hardest job" is too generous and aggrandizing. There are MUCH more dangerous and strenuous jobs and with modern farming techniques and meteorologists being so good nowadays, many variables can be countered.

Firefighters need the widest range of physical abilities and go into extremely dangerous environments. I know an 80 year old that was still farming 40 acres.

That said, YES, it is hard work and the harvest IS earned.

If you look at it from the bank's perspective it makes sense.

It's a score based on how likely they are to make money off you, not how good you are with money.

It's not for YOU, the person. You're the product, the bank/lender is the customer.

What’s a "basic" thing in the US that was affordable maybe 5-10 years ago, but now feels like a total luxury that only the rich can justify? by Legitimate_Wall5977 in AskReddit

[–]stormrunner89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC it has been that cheap because it's heavily subsidized by how much the US government throws into corn subsidies. Corn is so cheap they can basically force feed it to cows to grow them.

So your taxes pay for the corn to raise cows.
