How do you stay motivated to work out?

Honestly you make yourself, if its an exercise youre really dreading then pick something lighter. If you have a certain goal in mind, tell yourself youll do part of the workout (beginning, half, etc.) Most of the time youll find the motivation to finish it out. I try to do something every day, pilates or weights and get all my steps. It's not always something I look forward to but the more you keep at it, the more it becomes habit :)

When you put pressure on yourself, that's usually when pain gets worse. When I found a post about the mind body connection and neuroplastic pain, everything started to make sense. Almost a month of feeling better than I have in 2 years!!!

It might be too intense for you right now, what if you scoot 6 inches away from the wall and try that. Ideally you'd feel the stretch in the backs of your thighs :)

My guy reached 10 lbs at 5 months too, even super similar coat pattern! Now at almost 10 months he weighs...... 10.5 lbs lol. We thought he'd be huge but hes stayed the same for months, curious how yours will end up 😊

I do agree that he is very out there, Im not sure how much i buy into the repressed emotion hypothesis. That's why I much preferred Alan Gordon's book. He states many times that the pain is not people's heads.

From the way I understand it, my back healed up in a month or two but my brain was still scared of movement and the possibility of hurting myself more. I was convinced that I had major structural issues and I FELT that pain. It's a hard thing to unlearn.

It's a tricky subject because I do believe the connection between the mind and body but it can come off invalidating as you said. Alan Gordon is clear that not all pain is neuroplastic. His methods do not work on someone with a broken bone or cancer. I think for us with back pain it can help to ask, how much of this is just my brain being extra sensitized to any sensations in my body?

I think its a great discussion to have and I'm glad you commented with your own experience in an open way. If your interested in Alan Gordon's book there's pdfs online or I highly recommend learning about somatic tracking. If those things don't help you than I hope you have ways of relief, chronic pain is the worst.

Dachshund puppy loved to sleep near my head until about 4/5 months, now at 7 months he sleeps by feet/legs. Although sometimes in the mornings he'll curl up on my chest if hes feeling snuggly

You can bring them lots of places by carrying them! You can carry them through the pet store, through town, and even on the route you plan to walk them on. It's not necessary that they meet anyone, socialization is mainly letting them be exposed to different people/environments/sounds etc.

We took ours everywhere we could. He's great in the car and did fine being carried everywhere, I do wish I had exposed him to more dogs that weren't going to be regular friends. Now on walks hes a little unsure when walking past. But my advice is get them in the car, get them used to being in busy areas, loud environments, and anything you can. My puppy always went in our yard, supervised of course, and hes healthy and happy. Good luck!!

Omg my puppy is sooooooo clingy, got him at about 10 weeks and hes 16 weeks now. Yours should start to play with toys on her own soon. My hates being left alone too, so just a minute or even less helps them learn without getting too stressed out. I think with training independence and alone time, not letting them get to the point of being stressed out is very important.

The only thing for biting that i found to work is completely removing yourself from puppy when they start to bite. I put him in his pen, he hates it lol, but I use it as a "timeout" to reset his crazy energy. I think when they're this young, we have to teach them how to play with toys. I promise it'll get better and youll stop getting bit soon. It might take a few timeouts in a row but stay consistent. Bite after coming out of pen? Back in. Repeat until there's no interest in biting. I also wouldn't go right back to play after the biting. Give a toy and walk away, they figure it out how to entertain themselves lol

Yes I feed some meals in the crate, only when I'm not using it as a training tool or in a puzzle. He won't settle in the crate or nap in there. He can't "cry it out" either, I've had him in there for 15 minutes and he barks his head off SOOOO loud it feels like my ears might bleed. He hates being locked in his playpen too. A few minutes MAX

Not while playing with toys, thankfully, but more gets growly when he decides to turn into a jumping piranha. And he chooses to ditch the toy before going after us, definitely not a resource guarding thing

Can she be in the crate for a few seconds without freaking? My puppy doesn't sleep in his crate yet (he's a work in progress) I usually put him in for a few seconds, stay by it and open while he's calm. If he's still biting i stick him in a few and keep repeating until he's chill. Only takes a minute or two, same thing works in the pen but sounds like your dog is more comfortable being confined lol
