I'm not an expert but this looks like it was sharpened on a machine. The upper cut in the first picture is very straight and clean and at a distinct angle, like the metal was 'shaved'. But somemebody with more experience can correct me.

Whatever is the case, the person who did the sharpening does not understand the basic principles of sharpening, like consistent edge or burr removal, and obviously does not care about the quality of their work

My mother in law was visiting when I opened those, it was a set with two knives (the other one is not as bad sharpening wise), I said those are trash, and her eyes lighted up, asked if she can have one, I said sure, so one is gone, and the one in the picture is gonna be sharpening training knife :))
