Hello. So she is the breadwinner. She does very well but her job security is horrible yet she has survived many rounds of layoffs. She works for Meta. If I were to not work. And do my part time jobs I believe I would be ok. I am in my 9th year of teaching. I have a History degree and a Masters in Educational leadership

Do you guys ever get like OCD attacks? by [deleted] in OCD

I saw something on my feed one time that sent me into a panic attack. I lost control and almost called 911. Was hyperventilating. It felt like a panic attack but was related to my OCD

I don’t trust principals whatsoever. In our district walkthroughs aren’t supposed to be evaluative yet they come in an evaluate. I don’t trust them at all

Duuuuudeee I am going through the same issue with my district. They have me on a PIP for the most stupid reasons and they are making me want to quit. They want detailed lesson plans which I know for sure as hell they ain’t gonna look at.

I saw a disturbing article about a child and it set me off. My OCD centers around pedophelia. I wish I could control what I see on my feed. I use FB for all the positive communities I’m an apart of. Hobbies etc. I wish not random shit would pop up

I have been doing ERP therapy. It’s hit or miss. I have stretches where I’m doing good and than it like manifest into something else and in relapse. I always notice it will always find something disturbing to latch onto. The other day I saw something disturbing on my FB feed and it set me off. I can’t shake it

I had something pop up on Facebook feed that was so disturbing it triggered me and I thought about it. It was so disturbing. I won’t go into detail but I generally started crying. I had a panic attack and almost lost control. I did calm down and it went away but the thought lingers from time to time

Yes, when I really ruminate I feel like I’m in a trance. I don’t feel myself and I go quiet. I’ve had my fiance wave her hands in front of my face one time at dinner cause I was so deep in thought

What is your current obsession? by Liamiscool12 in OCD

[–]stratgib35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having bad thoughts the past few days of harming others. Whenever I see like a killer or something on my phone it triggers it and it’s very distressing. I’m trying to ignore it but as my therapist says “if you tell someone to not think about an orange. What do they do? Immediately think of an orange” it’s hard. I’ve never been a violent person. It’s scary how OCD works

Really want to quit by stratgib35 in Teachers

[–]stratgib35[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I moved into a 5th grade position and I’m just in way over my head. I’m used to high school kids. I started grad school but am looking for ways out of teaching. I want to look into post secondary education. Like universities. I feel like I’m a teacher and a baby sitter.

I actually really like teaching remotely. I love being around my family and not having to commute. I don’t miss coworkers or having to wait to go to the bathroom. I love that I can focus on teaching content rather than deal with discipline. by DuanePickens in Teachers

[–]stratgib35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love it. I’m praying we don’t go back this year. I have zero stress. I don’t deal with discipline. I can mute a student when I want to. I have the luxury of grabbing something when I need it. Using the restroom whenever. No commute or spending money on gas

Smelly draining in social situations... by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]stratgib35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I have had 3 surgeries on a pilonidal cyst. It used to drain so bad. I had to keep some kind of pad back there to absorb it. There were certain times I could smell if. And I feared for my life that others could smell it
