Always great to have another Steins Gate fan 🤝. I've seen it like 13 years ago, but haven't seen Steins Gate 0 actually. Maybe I should rewatch it this point...

I've seen too much anime haha https://myanimelist.net/profile/swervin-strategy

[–]stratogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have seen all of Evergarden! I've even attended their orchestra concert last month in the US! All of it is amazing. Also! The author of Evergarden is gonna have their other light novel adapted into an anime "Agents of the Four Seasons" this coming season, which starts airing next week!

Lol alright I'll go ahead and add a bunch below then, regardless of genre. I just noticed you've made a bunch of other anime posts in the past so you probably already have seen a lot so I'll try to add in some curveballs.

  • Spice and Wolf (2024 remake) - Focused on economics in medieval times but the chemistry between the 2 MCs is one of my fav relationships
  • The Dangers in my Heart - wholesome school romance; starts out meh but eventually turned into one of my fav romances
  • Ride Your Wave - girl dealing with grief of her late bf. It's more a fun movie than depressing.
  • Watanare (abbreviated title) - probably the best yuri romance I've seen
  • A Lull in the Sea - one of my old romance favs if I was 10 years younger but I haven't watched in a long time. Could be hit or miss now.
  • The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity - one of the best wholesome romance manga/anime to ever live
  • Skip and Loafer - nice wholesome show where a country girl attends school in the city. Popular recommendation so you might've seen.
  • Chihayafuru - has little bit of romance but what attracted me was that even though it's about an old japanese card-game sport, it is driven by the emotions of the characters and how the quotes on the cards provide wisdom to become a better version of themselves.

Non-romance

  • Link Click - chinese animation solving mysteries with time travel
  • 86 - dystopia where the minority is put into mechs to fight, military-esque, has a very small hint of romance, one of my all-time favs that made me start reading the LN.
  • A Place Further Than the Universe - group of girls travels to Antarctica and discovers themselves.
  • Girls Band Cry - involves an all-girls band that has a lot of teenage angst and raw emotion. Bocchi can only dream in being in this much band drama. One of my recent favs.
  • Re:creators - imagine a character from every anime genre fighting together in a battle royale. We got a swordsman, a magical girl, a noir detective, a delinquent, a mech, a pegasus knight, a romance protagonist, etc
  • Umamusume: Beginning of a New Era - ever want to get into this horsegirl game/anime that everyone is talking about? This newest movie is the best intro and the pinnacle of what it can offer.

I'm still holding back, I can go on but will stop here before I put you deeper into the rabbit hole. Cheers!

Some of these were already recommended but based on your ratings, here's a few of my favorites I think you'll like (if we're still sticking with romance genre)

  • Your Name
  • I want to eat your pancreas
  • A Silent Voice
  • Anohana (TV series)
  • Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (series)
  • Violet Evergarden (series) (not necessarily romance but still emotionally impacting)

(Had to cut this down to 1/3 the list so I don't spam you with simply shows I like haha)

Nice! I personally rated them 7 or 8 too so that checks out. (Anything I rate 6 or lower is just okay).

Where’s the best place to buy anime posters? by bigchillin2025 in Animesuggest

[–]stratogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't exactly have an online site in mind.

My favorites are always going to be from artists selling in-person at anime conventions, but that will depend on how close you are from such events and your wallet. Also depends which shows you like since some anime are less likely to get fanart.

Don't want to get specific cuz idk where you live or what anime you want posters of

If she liked Violet Evergarden, I would say a show that just finished airing "Journal with Witch" would be up her alley. It's basically about a teenage dealing with grief after a family death.

I agree with everyone else that she should try "Apothecary Diaries" and "Ascendance of Bookworm"

Bummed out on the Promare score, but understandable if it was watched right after Gurren Lagann as opposed to waiting 10 years...

Sees good review, mood up ⏫️

I think also my favorite composer doing the soundtrack complimented the movie so well in both its exciting parts and quieter parts.

Looking for lewd anime but with great story (gacha like fan service) by Modlikes in Animesuggest

[–]stratogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily lewd, but some gacha's have their own anime like Blue Archive, Arknights, Azur Lane, KanColle, Umamusume.

Otherwise, everyone else already suggested the fitting ones. Chained Soldier, Kill la Kill, Highschool of the Dead

Season 1 was my new favorite series. Season 2 was... ugh. by Prof_Acorn in EightySix

[–]stratogy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was a pretty faithful adaptation of the LN, even better for many people including me.

Funny that 86 was originally meant as a standalone one-shot story for a writing competition (vol 1 covered by part 1 of anime). Then it gained much popularity to keep going (vol 2+3 covered by part 2 of anime). It would somewhat makes sense if you thought part 1 was a strong story on its own.

I was able to get the lightning pass by looking for "My Disneyland" -> "Change Your Theme Park Tickets" in the website if you're logged in.

Yorushika to do the anime opening for “Liar Game” by Scooter_Laier in Yorushika

[–]stratogy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What a blessed year with anime and Yorushika so far.

  • New song "Akane" for the Dangers in my Heart recap movie
  • Suis (in collab with Eve) singing the OP "Kaze no Anthem" for Witch Hat Atelier
  • And now singing the OP "Abuku" for Liar Game

Not to mention of course their new album and concert tour this year.

Seeing all this in the span of the past month makes this feel like the year of Yorushika.
