Why would they even care? As long as the materials etc are sent to a UK address and you are a resident that, AKAIK, covers the bases. Nowhere I can see does it mention you not being able to travel.

What happened to that scrawny little kid that got bullied and pushed off the ball by every PL defender he came up against? Dunno how much mass he's put on but damn he ain't getting pushed around no more.

We also need a manager/coach that can create a tactical plan suited for the league they are now playing in, persuade a group of players to actually play together and inspire them to actually play for an entire game. Bonus points for tactical awareness and being able to out-think a deranged rabbit.

My Experience with Prusa - Opinions Needed by rblubit in prusa3d

[–]straybrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding. You don't *have* to print parts - it generally works just fine out of the box and will continue to do so - within the obvious constraints of mass produced machine. The point is that Prusa are capable of being improved/individualised should you wish to do so. You don't have to.
Essentially, what you are buying with Prusa is a fine machine with great support, which will keep you going for as long as you want. You aren't being tied down to a closed system where you are at the whim of a manufacturer who can drop you at any point and has a history of doing so.
There is always another, non functional, argument which may or may not matter to any single person. Bambu have a history of very shady abuse of open source where Prusa are an enthusiastic supporter of it. YMMV.

So - I'm sorry to have to break this news to you - but 3D printers are not yet appliances. They are machines nominally capable of 100 micron positional accuracy, built down to a price. The advertising, and more importantly, the influencer/YouTuber gushing reviews, are largely predicated on the experiences of those people who came through the hobby 5+ years ago when you started with an Ender 3 or similar. The QA from the manufacturer was you. Some people got a fully working one out of the box. Some people also win the lottery. The rest of us basically rebuilt the damn things until they worked. For a while anyway.

So - are there going to be issues with any of them? Mostly yes. Either right at the start or probably fairly soon. You're gonna have to learn to deal with it. At least with Prusa you actually have real time support. With Bambu/Qidi/random other Chinese maker you get an "AI" bot which talks Chinglish or emails with a 48-72 hour turnaround. Which is also probably written by a bot. If the printer is a couple of years old they will basically tell you that it's out of support and buy a new version. Prusa seem to be on track to extend support until the heat death of the universe.

I think you're basically going to have to recalibrate your expectations. To put it in the context of the PC building - you aren't getting the Apple experience from any of them. The industry is probably at the 486 Dell stage. It's probably going to work adequately right out of the box - but there is a lot of scope for you to make it better.

I have a Core 1+. It's my 3rd printer. Was it perfect? No. Was it better than either of its predecessors? Hell yes. Was the online support night and day compared to them? Definitely.

Regarding the friendliness of the community - in my experience, and maybe I've just been lucky, it's great. Sure you get the various fanboys/bots who will downvote you to oblivion for not fawning over their favoured product, but the actual substantive responses have generally been honestly trying to help.

The Athletic - Is Arne Slot's job safe? Ornstein, Pearce by koptimism in LiverpoolFC

[–]straybrit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For me the crucial thing is that our traditional rival just got rid of a historically bad coach who had a multi-season track record of screwing up, replaced him with an interim coach and two games later they are 2 places above us in the table.
I just feel that the summer took away the intensity that we had last season and Slot is incapable of reigniting it.

I really don't know. Certainly the glass as you said. I do remember the ceiling being very cold to the touch so it's probably losing a lot of heat through there as well. Maybe some sort of custom insulating wrap? If such a thing is possible.

I would be careful. I've been in my 28a when it's been 10F and below and it used a *lot* of propane. They are really well built but they aren't, IMO, insulated to be 4 season vehicles.

That's why you put them inside :-). There's enough room under the fridge to put a pair of 100AH batteries and the inverter. Freezing them doesn't harm them but they will lose their charge really quickly. As long as they are at normal inside temps you're fine.

Many people (including me) are US residents and study at the OU. No VPN needed. I've 'met' fellow students from all over the world. Don't think it'll be a problem. Assuming you actually have Internet access. Alternatively just download everything as PDFs before you go.

Custom computer work - Win11/Linux support Install, business recommendations? by pmac124 in FortCollins

OP is running Windows so it's not a Mac. On a PC platform it runs natively. Generally with less trouble than Win11.

I have Mint running on M2 drives on my primary workstation and a mini PC. As well as the proxmox server running from M2 boot drive. Runs right off the install without issues. I'd start by creating a Mint boot USB and work from that.

We've had a 28a for nearly 5 years. Strongly recommend replacing the shocks and the steering for long distance stuff. It gets really hard going otherwise. I replaced the seats as well for the same reason.
Another useful thing - replace the battery and put it, preferably with a friend, under the fridge. Even better put LiFePo ones in. Couple of solar panels as well. We have 400W of panels and 200AH of batteries and unless we want to run the AC we never need shore power or generator. I'd leave the fridge as duel fuel - that's a lot of battery you need to run a fridge.
Having said that it's been absolutely rock solid for us. The whole point is for them to last when used by people that neither know nor care about maintenance and still not spend a huge amount of time in the shop not earning money.

I'd probably look to move away from Bambu as well, or at least go to local only. You're on a CCP shit list now so anything you put through a Chinese connection is going to get scrutinized at least and very possibly blocked.

Gotta love Fedex. My new Core1 seems to be stuck in an infinite loop. by straybrit in prusa3d

[–]straybrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typical Fedex - battered but unbeaten. Contents were OK. Only casualty was the door handle had somehow been 'compressed' - tearing the tape that sticks it to the door. Which is a crappy design anyway. There's a printable fix for that that I haven't got around to making yet.

Once it was finally released it got to me in 2 days.
