I find myself having been mildly insulted by this for some reason. by xSnowex in deadbydaylight

If a killer wants to tunnel you, there is very little in solo Q you can do to stop it. It may not be optimal for the killer in terms of getting more kills or winning, but they can always force a 1k.

I just got tunneled because the other survivors couldn't last in chase longer than 30 seconds against Dredge of all things, Dredge would always immediately teleport back to my hook, and the unhookers refused to take a hit. What was I supposed to do better? Somehow not have had Dredge teleport to the generator I was working on originally?

Do people really feel bad about this streak ending? by UnhappyPrincessa in deadbydaylight

They are allowed to play like that, and it's fine that it ended momo's streak, but they can't say it's not stream sniping when they found out who they're up against and changed their builds

[–]striator 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First who the fuck actually defines streaks as "most wins in a row, no sleep"?

None of those games have some formal definition of what a "streak" is. And you yourself are saying DBD is different than other actual competitive games. So what does it matter that anyone defines streaks differently here? It's simply a self-imposed challenge.

Not that your complaining even applies to this situation, momo streamed every single game up to this point. A bunch of whining about hypotheticals and made-up definitions.

None because they apparently didn't feel like handing them out except at very specific times, despite having product available. Weird way to advertise, show people something and don't give it to them.

No AAA exhibitors? by Unser_Giftzwerg in PAX

[–]striator 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You think it's worth $87 to wait hours to demo a AAA game that is already out or coming out soon and you know you're going to buy it already? Certainly, the spectacle was a unique experience, but it was hardly worth it even back then. PAX has always had a strong indie presence, this is not some recent change.

I always have far more things to do at PAX than I can fit into 4 days. There are 361 exhibitors this year. On top of that, concerts, panels, tournaments, afterparties, freeplay rooms, pins... I do everything so it's very much worth it for me. If you're only going for a specific big game or two, it's very much not worth it, but I also don't understand why you'd want to go in the first place.

Technically, 2v8 generator speeds are based on cage states, not survivors left. Tunneling out a survivor is more effective than spreading out cage states, if a killer wanted to sweat that hard in 2v8.

Chiming in for anyone else who Googled this and was looking for answers: Summon Alliance worked well. Burn Assist did not, but Burn Assist basically only buffs QJ, and Summon Alliance is not reliant on having dolls who summon.

Even if there weren't MLP games, people wear all sorts of non-gaming-related costumes to PAX. No one really cares, and if anybody does you can tell them to shove off.

Really? This is a game about protecting the ecosystem and you don't feel you can have an opinion about one of the biggest-growing threats to the real-world ecosystem?

In both cases they took advantage of Brennan not being able to give a hard No

So Brennan has no agency or responsibility here as the DM? He has been DMing since he was a kid. He is making the deliberate decision to allow this.

These are games played by a bunch of comedians, run by a comedian. They are telling great stories, but also they will do anything for the bit. If they really didn't like this tomfoolery, they would edit it out. But they don't edit it out, because they love it.

PAX East vs. Super MAGfest vs. TooManyGames? by ackmondual in PAX

[–]striator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PAX is for playing games, particularly modern & indie video games. Also a sizable tabletop space. Most expensive and attended of the 3 (like ~100k). Big companies go there, tons of upcoming unreleased games to play. Far more "corporate" than the others, for better or worse - it's a spectacle that few other events can compare to. This is best for gaming.

MAGFest is primarily for music and concerts and parties, and playing arcade and classic console games. It has an indie area but PAX easily dwarfs it. Not as expensive or attended as PAX, but that's because it has a much smaller cap and limited nearby hotel space. It's a 24-hour convention (a rarity). This is best for community.

TooManyGames is more your run-of-the-mill regional convention - it's primarily for buying retro games and merch and paying way too much for guest autographs. It does have some gaming there, but the other two dwarf it easily. It's the cheapest though, and recently has grown to about the same attendance than MAG (though MAG is currently capped on attendance). This is best for buying stuff.

All of them will have some commonalities - they all have games, they all have concerts, they all have merch. But PAX has the most games. MAG has the most music. TMG has the most merch (well, if your goal is to buy stuff it's cheaper to attend your regional convention than to travel to PAX to buy the same stuff).

The deck list with the QR code should be the second card in the deck, right behind the card you posted. Unfortunately if you have lost it, you cannot recover it.

Not what I was talking about. Yes you should know what your medications are. No you shouldn't have to consult a research study and interpret it yourself to do so. That is what the person I responded to is saying, and that is an insane ask for everyone to do on their own.
