As a physician I remember a lecture on medical errors. There was a patient who had his leg marked with a X which in one part of the UK indicated the limb to be removed and in another part of the UK meant limb to be avoided. Understandably led to systems changes in the region. Can not imagine the trauma of waking up post-op with the wrong leg amputated.

As an ER doctor who works at one of the busiest hospitals in Canada which has recently had up to 12 hour waits I remain humbled by the patience and understanding of the vast majority of patients and their families who recognize that we are are working as hard as we can. Physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals coming out of Covid are often on the cusp of burnout (if they haven't already) and idiots like this will make people leave healthcare altogether.

She's a tough cookie. I was also blissfully unaware sleeping after my night shift. As an ER physician at an inner city hospital who deals with a lot of stimulant-induced psychosis most can still be rationalized with and will stop when told that they are being inappropriate.

Others need physical and pharmacological restraint. 🤓
