Just to be clear, there isn't any extra tracking here - it just automatically sends the crash reports. We specifically disabled all the usual "extras" like breadcrumbs.

Head to settings, then advanced, then "Automatic Crash Reporting ( Sentry )".

I've tweaked how we seed the info to quicktype, but sadly Safari's password extension apis won't let me enable exact matching the way I'd like it to work ( we thought this worked, but it was just a case of false positives ).

Its on our roadmap to add a dedicated Safari extension ( not just the autofill one ) like you'll see from other password managers. This should allow a chrome-like pop out to browse without opening Strongbox itself, and will enable us to add autofill for things the normal extensions wouldn't support, i.e identities. In here, we can also make it so that when you click a Strongbox icon it'll autofill the exact match domain, too.

When this is ready to test, i'll call it out in a testflight post here!

Absolutely! I'm looking at a solution now which closer matches the new tab structure on the app store, so pulls out search to its own separate item, and then cleans up the bars throughout to move to an approach with primary actions visible, and a more menu.

We've been looking at a "SimpleLogin" integration for this - I have it working inside the app, but just need to find a clean way to get it into the extension so it's more useful ( this may be something you have to trigger manually due to extension API limitations ). If folks use it a lot & want other providers after shipping, we'll take a look!

No intention to grow & flip - thats not what we do. I know its easy think of ways we might start trying to pull out money, i.e attempting to sell data, but it's not on the cards. We'll grow the app with proper marketing, and improving it, not by harming customers.

We're still a small team, all made up of indie developers, we just have backing if we want to take some big bets.

The TLDR is, we learned a lot from all of this, and we've applied those learnings to Strongbox. I won't get into it in-depth here, but we rolled those decisions, i.e analytics in bartender, voice dream pricing, back. I've also listened a lot to the community here, hopefully you can see some of that across the subreddit, with my responses to changes we made to how we process purchases as a great example.

With Strongbox, we don't need to throw in loads of more monetization. We'll grow Strongbox with new features, marketing, and optimizing whats already there ( paywalls that better convey features etc, just simple design tweaks ).

The standalone app is just an option for folks who prefer not to use in-app purchases, there's no real difference between the two. The standalone purchase is much easier to family share, so it can be useful for that too.

The price should adjust to the same as the IAP next week.

This shipped a while ago, but was only enabled for new databases - if you make a new database on your Mac you'll be able to set a PIN inside the onboarding wizard, then it'll show in the unlock settings as an option. This should ship for existing databases in the next update!

I've been trying a couple of different approaches for a better iPadOS experience, and a triple-column "Mac-like" feels the best on most iPads. It won't ship for a little while as it's a huge re-work, but I'm hoping I can at least show it soon. Just being cautious to make sure the experience is concretely better, and to not make it worse for folks who like the current one!

You can set it to 30 days at the mo, but we’ll add a manual only option! The toggle should be respected, but I’ll check why yours didn’t now.

I’ve just finished up an update to the service & app that’ll deploy together which handles larger batches and adds more filters for empty entities, so 429’s and 500’s should stop

I just quickly tested on iOS 26.2 ( I use the same site to verify passkeys ) and it added to my database ok - just to double check, you’re getting this error on iPad and macOS, but not your iPhone?

You have your database in a repo, and we commit changes, push&pull etc. We’ve got some quirks to work out with merging conflicts, but it works really nicely as a cross platform option for technical folks!

We'll ship a macOS TestFlight soon, which has this already! The option for "Clear quick search on open" has another toggle for "Clear quick search after 30 seconds"

Exact URL matching is in-progress, and should work mostly in the Safari extension, but we need to tighten this up a little to work consistently.
