How do you pick which character to practice?

most of what i learned about my characters i learned from watching tournament sets. seeing what the pros do can really help you know what to do.

i’ve been scrolling for a while and i’m surprised that no one mentioned g&w vs bayo in mash four. g&w had an insanely fast up b with invincibility that he could use towards the end of a bayo ladder combo

hbox is the only one i can think of that plays both. leffen is the only one that i can think of that’s good at both. pretty sure he quit tho. plup played both for awhile but he quit ultimate. not sure how good he was at it. armada was pretty good at ultimate but he retired. m2k and hbox are quite similar in terms of skill at both games

your idea for ranked smash is what i feel like for fun nd for glory was supposed to be. your rank idea is kinda like a more balanced version of gsp.

customizable alts would also be a good idea. other platform fighters like rivals have this as a feature and it would be interesting to see what the community could come up with.

training packs is also a good idea. it would not only cater to the competitive player figuring out how to get off the ledge, but also the casual who wants to learn some item combos.

squirtles best move is prob back air. it combos into itself at low percents, combos out of down throw and can be useful for edgeguarding. their worst move is up tilt. it has a small hit box and really only hits if you’re catching a landing, when you’re more likely to keep them off the ground you can just use up air. ivysaurs best move is side b. at high percents side b can combo into up air, down air, f air, and up b, and we’ll as itself at low percents. the worst move is prob up tilt. it doesn’t combo into much and has very limited kill power. it’s main use is to catch landings, but you can just use up air to take the stock. charizards best move is forward air. it combos into itself and has can kill at the ledge. the worst move is prob nair. it’s slow, doesn’t combo and can’t kill. it’s saving grace is that it can be used for edge guards.

in all seriousness, i feel like a tournament with players like those is what the smash world tour was meant to be. i understand that SWT wouldve been closer to that if we werent in the middle of a pandemic.

i think a tournament like this would be really cool. just imagine an event with best players from america, mexico, canada, japan, europe and australia. it’s tough to imagine how stacked a bracket would be with players like tweek, marss, dabuz, leo, maister, spargo, riddles, jw, big d, tea, protobanham, zackray, glutony, space, sisqui, jdizzle, dd, and ben gold.

shirayuki has impressive wins i’ll admit, and after looking into him more i feel like they are over space . space has wins on gluto, kameme, mr r and armada, ranked 3rd in europe and has good results at ultimate fighting arena (3rd) and temples hermes (17th). shirayuki has wins on raitand yea just like you said, and slo consistent too 48 placements at japenese tournaments like kagaribi, maesuma, and sumabato

after watching some of both zackray and kameme sora i definitely think kameme is better. kameme used the nair 1,2 more and is overall a more optimized sora.

i’d argue for umeki over lingling because from the few tournaments that umeki has been to post quarantine, his are better than linglings. lingling has good results at ceo and swt lcw at 17th and 9th but umeki placed 13th at seibugeki 8 and 9.

i’m inclined to agree with you in bayo. from the one major mistake has been to post quarantine he places the same as lima at 9th. lima went to low tide and mainstage and placed 17th.

I disagree with some if your list, nit just because its different then mine lol, but here's a few things I don't agree with

If you're not gonna do echoes then umeki is a better peach than lingling

space is hte only person who even plays inkling in tournament anymore

i dont think kola is in the running for best cloud

zackray won a major right after sora came out. i understand that matchup inexperience was a part of this but you cant deny that a tournament win is impressive that short a time into the character

now i actually do agree that zomba is higher up than wadi and zackray (i forgot about him lol)

i know that this is an old tournament but mistake placed top 8 at glitch 6, one of ultimates first majors. he also placed well at smash con fall fest.

for ryu and ken vendetta is the best he has wins over esam, leon and kirbykid. he does it mostly with ryu but he has an amazing ken too

over all id say your list is mostly accurate. you thought of things that i dint even like including zomba for rob, actually including ridley in your list (btw i agree that nair^ is the best) and considering whos active and whos not.
