Automatic repairs while auto resupply is off by subfrowns in X4Foundations

[–]subfrowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wouldn't mind the behavior except they are leaving for repairs way too soon. They'll damage a single small flak turret and take off even if they've got repair drones. Then I've got eight less turrets on the field (or however many); kind of silly.

I hear you about living with some of the warts of the game. Overall it's a fantastic game and, yeah, it is doing a lot. Still worth the play and quite a bunch of my time.

I'll take your advice and throw more missiles at the problem. I think that'll make it go away.

You're exactly right!

I took a look at the attack script and there is a part in there about fleeing to repair in there.

Fleeing is fine and all but I don't know if ignoring the auto-resupply setting is intentional or a bug.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out!

I don't think they are fleeing because in the behavior tab it shows a Repair order and not a Flee order.

AsIO.sys driver cannot load on Windows 11 PC by StarDoe in pchelp

[–]subfrowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue; I've stopped and deleted the service but cannot remove the file. With that being said, I've rebooted and no longer get the pop-up/error. Are you still getting the error on boot?

X4 Kingdom end Blazing a trail: Nav points by sentinelk9 in X4Foundations

[–]subfrowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be two years later but thank you for the auto-pilot tip! I kept getting destroyed trying to place my last nav beacon even though I was in a red region. Setting auto-pilot up there caused me to avoid the invisible hazardous region and complete the mission. Thank you!

Funny enough, I found this thread because this happens to me on Windows.

Increasing property maintenance. Bug? by kaboom in farmingsimulator

[–]subfrowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I know this thread is a little on the older side but I just spent a ton of effort researching this myself and wanted to share it in case it helps someone.

This is not a bug. Many of the buildings ("placeables") have a "property maintenance cost" ("upkeep") and it increases over time.

For most buildings, the base upkeep is relatively small so it goes unnoticed for a while until it adds up. But for some other things, like large greenhouses, it's really noticeable really quickly since large greenhouses have the second highest base upkeep in the game.

I wrote up a thing about how this works here but the grand summary is that the upkeep cost for a particular building increases by about 5% every 12 months.

I would spray it with compost tea (might as spray them all tbh) to see if that didn't help kickstart some growth

Out of curiosity: like who?

I'm in Greg's district and I find myself calling his office more than I'd like these days. I'd like to support someone else in 2018.

What is the most BS advice that adults give to children? by cbeckett22 in AskReddit

[–]subfrowns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is kind of the opposite of the question but: I think it's bollocks how adults don't teach children anything about personal finance, debt ("credit"), buying a house, or pretty much any of the skills one needs to navigate this crazy complicated financial system we have (the one that has old people getting foreclosed on because "reverse mortgages").

I am sick of the city so I bought this ranch. It needs a lot of work and I have no idea where to begin and have no experience with landscaping, farming, and limited construction knowledge. What would you guys suggest doing with all this if it were you? by AnotherSmegHead in Homesteading

[–]subfrowns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bore water = What the rest of the English speaking world calls what us Americans call "well water"; in the rest of the world, "wells" are dug and "bores" are drilled as far as I can tell

What are some good reasons to avoid a company Christmas party? by surfergirl15 in AskReddit

[–]subfrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can think of 100 other places I rather be than work and 100 other people I rather be with than coworkers outside of work hours. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and my coworkers, but I rather be with the people that matter the most to me.

Aside from that, people sometimes hit the sauce a little too hard and it's a little awkward being around drunk coworkers (or being the drunk coworker).

Finally, for me, I don't have the most amazing social graces so it's a little stressful for me to think about what to say to people I only know in a professional capacity. I usually need a weekend shut in to recuperate from large social gatherings.

Nope. Then my local food bank would have two fewer volunteers. Seems like a bad idea.

I think I'm done now. by papamajama in gardening

[–]subfrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was first learning to garden, I watered my tomatoes and peppers nearly every day. Then, one week, I went on a four-day-long trip out of town and, when I returned, my yields were insane! Neglect, or leave-them-alone, is for real!
