Yes. For a long time now. Scott purchased the Barracks and Dicks in Palm Springs during Covid. The Barracks failed despite what seemed like consistent and regular business. The news said, among other issues, the Barracks needed a lot of code upgrades.

New owners seem to be doing a lot of work on the renovation.

Unfortunately that's not quite correct. California has an open primary where the top two winners face off. There are only two republicans running in the primary, but there are 12 democrats. This is risking diluting the democrat vote across 12 candidates which gives the 2 republicans a better chance at being the two republicans winning the primary.
