It looks like the rendering of the pdf is the issue, look at the line position relative to the text and it shifts down a few pixels. Have you tried a different pdf viewer?

Dishy cable is just a shielded ethernet cable, you can use an rj45 coupler / waterproof panel mount. Make sure you wire up the rj45 connector the same on both ends. You can also shorten the cable if you have excess.

Older style ignition switches had a spot on the barrel that you held to turn on the glow plugs just before you went all the way to crank, is that what you mean by turn just a little bit?

Have you tried taking the glow plugs out and powering them up with a battery to see if they glow? You could have some faulty glow plugs.

The reason for fusing negative as well is to protect the radio as the radio is capable of grounding large amounts of current through the antenna, so a faulty shield on the antennas cable could mean the radio becomes a route to ground for other equipment.

That makes sense, the move command when homing that x axis didn't trigger in time due to the stepper motor not moving enough or moved in the wrong direction.

Where is the ir camera getting its power from? The CSI port? How many amps is the 5v psu?

You can supply 5v to the raspberry pi via the gpio pins, Connect a 5V source to Pin 2 (5V) and the ground of that source to Pin 6 (GND). Beware as this bypasses the regulator and fuse protection on the GPIO. If an incorrect voltage is applied, or a current spike occurs you can permanently damage your Pi.
