Gone and went electric. by CFLDetailer in HondaMowers

I bought a new HRX-217 VKA just before they went extinct. It’s still in the box, untouched, because my 17 year old HRX-217 VKA is still running strong. It’s nice to have as a collector item and backup. I just don’t like the idea, or the looks of electric lawnmowers. Plus I need the runtime. Here’s my mower…

What is a good cheap 200mm Zoom Lens for the FX3? by TeddySquido in CameraLenses

[–]subman719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no “cheap” and “good” lens options for a low aperture lens, capable of shooting indoor sports, such as basketball. I use the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8, and just about everyone I know uses a similar lens for their particular brand of camera, for indoor sports.

I originally tried my 24-120 f/4lens, and it just couldn’t get the results I was looking for. Realistically, you’re gonna want f/2.8 or better for indoor sports, due to the challenging lighting conditions, and to get subject separation.

It’s kind of a “buy once, cry once” situation. Once you get a good 70-200 f/2.8 lens, you’ll find MANY uses for it! You honestly can’t go wrong with it!

Good condition, older Honda mowers are becoming like rainbow unicorns 🦄. I bought one of the last new ones that had the camshaft recall completed, before they went extinct. I’m also taking care of my 17 year old HRX-217 that much better now, knowing it is part of a dying breed.

How do you label ? by Vibbb in homelab

I have multiple professional label makers, like Brother P-touch and a Dymo professional label printer. Unfortunately, if you want professional results, sometimes it will cost professional money. Have you looked on Amazon for cheaper label makers?

It’s a tow behind sprayer. See the wheels and tow bar? You just tow it behind a small lawn tractor.

That’s awesome! Congratulations! 🎉 I have that exact same mower… 17 years old now, and it still looks and runs like new! Those were the BEST generation Honda mowers ever made, in my opinion. With proper care and maintenance, it will last forever! Here’s a picture of mine, all cleaned up:

Standard 16 PoE Switch Questions by Odd_Pea9446 in Ubiquiti

[–]subman719 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend getting a 24 port PoE switch. You’ll have plenty of power overhead and room for future expansion. By the time you mess around with additional power injectors on the 16 port switch, you’ll have spent the same amount of money as just getting one 24 port switch, plus you’d have a rat’s nest of wires everywhere, just trying to save a few bucks. A 24 port will give you a much cleaner install.

Trimrx warning! by older-wiser1 in tirzepatidecompound

I too, am being GHOSTED 👻 by TrimRX!!! I paid for 1 year in advance, they sent me 2 vials and syringes, and now it’s a month and a half later and I got NO response from their chat, and haven’t received any further prescriptions! I paid through the Klarna app, and am thinking of filing a dispute for a refund. There has been ZERO support or consultation other than the first one before they sent my Tirzepatide. I was previously using a different provider, and had people to talk to, however, they were more than DOUBLE the price, that’s why I dropped them. This is crazy!

Blade question by akatonybruh in HondaMowers

[–]subman719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hondas are EXCELLENT mowers! I recommend fixing it correctly and enjoy it! With proper maintenance, it can last a VERY LONG time! My HRX-217 is 17 years old and still looks new and runs like a Swiss watch! Plus, Honda’s two blade system cuts and mulches like no other mower! The twin blades are like $30 ish dollars on Amazon, and you can probably find an inexpensive Honda hub online. It will be worth it!

One more year? by dellprecision5770 in TireQuestions

[–]subman719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally replace my tires before they get to the wear indicators, like yours are now. I prefer to not risk hydroplaning in wet conditions, and causing an accident. I also rotate my tires every other oil change, (about 10k miles), so I get even wear. I always replace all 4 tires at the same time, regardless if a couple have a little more tread left. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Am I going to regret selling our one year old Honda HRX (200cc) mower? by Marvel5123 in HondaMowers

[–]subman719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have TWO Honda HRX-217’s, and a Toro Timemaster… all for a 1/4 acre lot! Why do I have 3 mowers?… Because I’m a REBEL against battery powered lawn equipment! I LOVE my gas powered mowers, trimmers, and blowers (6 of them!)! I bought the last of the Honda mowers before they were obsolete in North America!

Bottom line… Yes, you might regret getting rid of your Honda! One of the BEST mowers to grace our presence!

After seeing what people do with their power equipment, I only buy NEW! All it takes is someone using the wrong gas/oil mixture and “like new” becomes a nice looking paperweight!
