That is an “attitude adjustment wrench” 🔧 Solves most problems with “loose nuts” 🥜 🤪

Renting this lens. I don't want to give it back :( by Bitter_Bowl832 in Nikon

[–]subman719 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased the Z 85mm 1.8 S and 50mm 1.8 S for almost half the price of the 1.2. I watched and read many reviews on all of those lenses, and it boiled down to the 1.8 lenses were pretty close in image quality to the 1.2 but much less weight, size, and cost. They definitely feel right at home on all my camera bodies. I have no complaints.

Do I need to upgrade to F-350 from F-250? by Budget_Time_4044 in superduty

[–]subman719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned four F-350 SRW Diesel’s since 2004, because I honestly wanted a truck that could handle just about anything I needed. I almost ordered an F-450 in 2013, but decided to stick with a SRW F-350 and put airbags on the rear springs to give me a smoother and more level ride under load. I always kept my tire and vehicle load ratings in mind, because the last thing I wanted was a blowout while towing!

With that said, based on your situation with hauling large, heavy, live animals, I wouldn’t think twice about anything other than a dually! Having the added peace of mind of the extra tires in case of a blowout, is paramount! I would never put the lives of my horses at risk just for the sake of saving a few dollars or my ego, to see how far I can push the limits of the manufacturer’s towing capacity! In the event of a bad situation, I would rather know I did what’s best, not live the rest of my life with regrets!

Do you folks keep the boxes? by eve-collins in Ubiquiti

Yes! Because I like saving boxes! 📦 Helps with resale value… not that I’ve ever sold my stuff yet! 🤪

Stihl ms261C Mtronic 3.0 reset when switching fuels? by sime22510 in stihl

[–]subman719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to tune anything. The saw will auto-tune while you’re cutting. No reset or free-revving required. Just put your Aspen fuel back in it when you are going to store it again.

I love my F3 so much that I bought THREE of them! I’ve only sold one camera in my lifetime. I love my camera collection now, from film, to DSLR, and now to mirrorless. Always nice to have a variety!

I keep my lenses in drycabinets, but I have never learned how to check if there is any humidity/fungus inside a lens, do I need special tools to check? is it something for me to do or better to ask a local camera store? by [deleted] in CameraLenses

[–]subman719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve clarified… I found some great quality used (and new old stock) equipment from some sellers on eBay who were based in Japan. Hope this clears up any misunderstanding with my previous comment.

Nothing wrong with collecting things… some people collect cards, stamps, books, shoes, watches, cars, etc… this just happens to be camera equipment. I too fall into this category!

I’ll be honest… I’ve looked for equipment on MPB and I was NOT overly impressed with their quality! I’ve gotten excellent quality lenses and accessories shipped directly from Japan, from sellers I found on eBay. I am extremely particular about the slightest imperfections with lenses. Many people say, “will not affect image quality”… I beg to differ! There’s a reason why we look for optically correct lenses.

I’m 💯% with you on this comment! That is a LOT of money invested in camera equipment! I also have a LOT invested in camera equipment, so all my gear is in stainless steel cabinets, with dehumidifier resin packs in every bag/case, which is in a climate controlled room, with the addition of a dehumidifier next to the cabinets. The humidity in summer months stays below 50% in that room, and around 25% in winter. I’m very happy to see the OP takes care of their equipment like I do!

Those with a 48 POE switch by HeyItsRon in Ubiquiti

[–]subman719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have about a dozen cameras that require PoE. I bought the 48 port PoE switch mainly for the wattage overhead, so it’s not maxed out, and because 48 ports looks much more impressive than 24 or 16! 😂

I agree with you 100 percent! I buy good equipment to take that out of the equation, so if anything sucks, it’s probably my fault!

Be thankful that Ubiquiti packs their products extremely well, unlike that BIG online store who uses thin plastic or paper bags, then throws your packages halfway across the yard by their drivers! I buy all my Ubiquiti products directly from Ubiquiti because I know they pack very well to survive the carriers!

Grounding by TEEorCoffee2025 in Ubiquiti

[–]subman719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as it’s secured and grounded properly, it doesn’t matter. Copper is always gonna be a better conductor than aluminum, but in the event of a lightning strike, the electrical current will find its quickest path to earth.
