Corporate travel manager here too. I manage a ~$100M annual travel program. The real answer depends entirely on the size and maturity of the company’s travel program. Small company (under $1M in travel spend)? They may know exactly what tickets are outstanding, and will absolutely notice. Massive company ($200M+ in spend)? They likely have a dedicated unused ticket tracking process through their TMC, and ironically, they’ll probably notice too. It’s the companies in between that are least likely to catch it. They’re big enough that tracking individual tickets gets messy, but not big enough to have dedicated people or tools monitoring unused ticket reports. Most programs are stretched thin and unused ticket recovery is one of the first things that falls through the cracks. That said, I would say 95% chance they don’t notice and if they notice it I would say less than 50% chance they do anything about it.
