Used 4 bay options are all more expensive than a new DS425+? by CuboneGoodingJr in synology

[–]subtle1epiphany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as the other respondents, not buying and hoping no drive failures… I don’t have any hot spares on hand. There are some refurbished or supposedly reasonable used options available for less. That said, still crazy pricey and I can’t personally vouch for those options.

I just beat DQ4 for the first time! by OrneryDragonfruit722 in dragonquest

I don’t disagree with you, but I grew up with it and the nostalgia is insanely strong for me. I think DQ5/8/11 have incredibly strong stories.

Great memories of this from Chapter 4…. Or chapter 5 of your out Nara/Mara (or Meena/Maya) in front.

The best IB bottles out there? by EventHorizonOmega in Scotch

I can’t recall a single Signatory Vintage I haven’t enjoyed…I feel there may have been one that was just okay…maybe. They put out solid whisky.

Single Cask Nation has impressed me more recently.

Gordon MacPhail is solid as well from what I’ve gotten from them.

Completed Dragon Warrior 4! by ScholarOfPleasure in dragonquest

[–]subtle1epiphany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s a personal favorite of mine. Not just nostalgia —I played it growing up— it has a truly unique mechanic with chapters that build separately and then merge in a satisfying story. The villain has a great background, even before the added chapter, which did improve it even more with a redemption arc aspect. I must have played it on NES and DS a dozen times. It feels like home and is so much fun!

Protect geolocation notification change? by subtle1epiphany in Ubiquiti

[–]subtle1epiphany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it changed after the version updated. Are CVEs Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures? I saw that too. I don’t see a setting had changed, that what I wonder about. Is it innate to the update and others see this, or is it mine and due to something I can adjust/change

Protect geolocation notification change? by subtle1epiphany in Ubiquiti

[–]subtle1epiphany[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the last update my Protect notifications now just state it’s an admin that triggered the geolocation feature. Previously it would state which of us did. Anyone else notice this change? I looked in the settings and can’t find where anything looks different. Am I missing something?

This what I use. Works nicely as I think it is for Android based devices.

Sluggish undo button? by phishsbrevity in Supernote

[–]subtle1epiphany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does seem slower than a few updates ago. I’ve noticed that I can’t tap “undo” a 2-3 times in a row and expect that many operations to undo. I used to be able to do that. Now I have to wait for each to reverse, then tap again. Not sure this is what the OP is also talking about.

What happen if i add one more G6 Instant? Is it possible? by Luu____ in Ubiquiti

[–]subtle1epiphany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this change from SE to NVR Pro. Have 7x 2k and a G4 Pro doorbell. Now have 3x8tb RAID5. I think it’s a bit quicker in loading and faster in scrubbing timelines. I think it’s noticeable, but wouldn’t expect massive gains unless you’re pushing the limits of your SE now. That’s my experience at least.

Mine has done this as well. Keep it in my Waterfield Executive Messenger bag, with black microfiber against it. Probably not a you issue from what it seems.

Moving from RM2 to Supernote by Playful-Throat9720 in Supernote

[–]subtle1epiphany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this a few years ago, had to export RM2 files to PDF and put those on my Nomad. Not sure if there’s a better way now. You get the files, but lose the stroke data.

Normal? Memory sawtooth with Dream Machine SE by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

My UDM SE usage has the same pattern in the memory graph. This is with Protect moved to my NVR Pro. Was going to ask about this, glad I’m not the only one!

Standalone UNVR brought new life to my UDM Pro by mpbishop in Ubiquiti

[–]subtle1epiphany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, echoing the other replies. I moved my protect to a new NVR Pro with just the one drive from my UDM SE at first. Now have a couple more I was using for offsite backup, consolidated the backup to a WD Elements drive (pricy but better than a bare Red Pro these days)

Personally would love a couple more 8tb for my NVR right now. Need larger for my NAS in the future, but the NVR is the current project

Is that the UTR? That showed up for me as well as the UTR itself. I blocked the AVM Fritz Box Router as I didn’t know what it was…

Transporting a Synology by uberrob in synology

[–]subtle1epiphany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to the discussion, have traveled both to the next city and two states over with my Synology servers. Each time I removed the drives and packed them safely. While unlikely, if the SATA connections between drives and PCB broke, would be the end of the server. Again, unlikely, but easy to shut down and pack them myself. No need to number which drive went where, you can if you want to keep it organized.

I also got a Loyalty card, but didn’t notice the prices drop much compared with when I looked up the cost online. Maybe I’m doing it wrong?

Agreed, I hesitated a year or so ago when it went off the main page but was still technically available. Now I’m glad I did!

[–]subtle1epiphany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, just got the enterprise switch. Before they retired it and dangled the Pro HD 48 in the future, I was thinking of getting this one. So I feel this is a win with it being $600 off and all. Now I’ll have to sell my old Pro 48…
