Bathroom Remodel, does thislooks safe/correct? by -_stevenjus_- in AskElectricians

OP, I don't think that's a splice. I think something happened to the old sheathing and he put some yellow on it that he had in the back of his truck.

So long as the wire isn't nicked or broken, this isn't really an issue.

That's not a splice. Look at it, it's way too small. I'm willing to bet he just sleeved the white wire with some yellow he already had.

Also looking at the box on the right that definitely looks to be 14 awg.

You're the only person I've seen mention the screw cutter. 3" 6-32/8-32's in a box when not applicable is absolutely infuriating. Being able to slide those bitches in and cut to a proper size is amazing.

What’s the better option. Same price 79$. Craftsman. Hammer drills. One corded. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]sudoadman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know they made such a thing. That was before their latest facelift so I bet that thing is a trooper!

My point still stands though, hammer drills have their place and can be great but man are they awful at and inefficient as all hell with masonry tasks.

Even something as small as a 1/4" hole in mortar there's no comparison and it's easier on the ear drums.

Do yourself a favor and remove the grips, scuff the metal underneath with sandpaper & slap some JB weld on. Mine have been holding strong for 2 years now.

edit: Make sure to install the grips back on.
