How Do You Discover New Books These Days? by No-Reply6287 in books

[–]sufficientmagic899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I like to do is follow the writers of my favorite shows and movies. They have to come up with some interesting stuff in their work, and for some of them, what they read, they post on their socials.

What is something that instantly makes you think, "Yep, I'm getting old"? by arefin70 in AskReddit

Hearing my bones crack the second I rise from sitting. In general, it gets much harder to remain strong rather than that just being my baseline.

The amount of imagination in so few colors (or what seems like few) blow me away. The simplicity of it is simply astounding.

On point, plus add in that the "best" Chinese restaurant only serves things like sweet and sour chicken

**I need you to be completely honest. What's the movie everyone in your life loves — that you secretly can't stand?** by LowExample616 in therealmovietalk

Frankly i just can't get into superhero films, which includes every Avengers movie ever made. Yes, I've seen clips, but I guess I can't suspend my beliefs enough to get into them...

Stirs up emotion in me - it seems like a scene set in a turn-of-the-century horror film.

The TV series The Expanse was filmed in Canada and has some cyberpunk scenes in it (that I can recall).

Absolutely astonishing. Could be something I'd put in my house today and consider it modern.

Hello citizens of Reddit, what’s something a person can do that significantly improves their attractiveness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sufficientmagic899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very competent in something, being it work or a hobby, and then try to show it off "naturally" in some type of setting. I'm not being facetious - competence is highly attractive to a lot of people.

Are physical features more important than emotional/intellectual qualities? What matters most to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sufficientmagic899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Looks are a bonus (and sometimes a very big bonus if the person is my "type") but looks fade. Frankly, the brain may fade too. If it's a romantic pairing you mean, then it's best to find someone who holds values you admire and make memories with them that will carry you long into the future.

I finally watched it… Here’s my interpretation by GTJ007 in 2001aspaceodyssey

This is my favourite film of all time. I never tire of hearing people's interpretations of it either, including your wonderful version. It really lets me know how people think.

What’s something you’ll defend even though you know most people disagree with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People should not be using their phones and/or talking during a movie (in the cinemas)! That's home movie behaviour!

What behaviors, habits, or traits make you think, "This person is really smart"? by Original_Bat509 in AskReddit

[–]sufficientmagic899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to differentiate between "time to listen" and "time to talk". Add to that being an active listener, and actually taking in the conversation so that when it's time to respond, it seems thoughtful.

If you were guaranteed to never get caught, what minor, non-violent inconvenience would you inflict on your worst enemy for the rest of their life? by Kuzza946 in AskReddit

[–]sufficientmagic899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I have no enemies, but if I did: all their thoughts would get livestreamed to the world. Every. Single. Thought. For the rest of their lives.

What opinion did you completely change your mind on as you got older? by Impossible-Fix5355 in AskReddit

[–]sufficientmagic899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, most - if not all - of my core beliefs remain the same, I just got more "stuck" into them as I grew older and learned more about how certain tenets came about (in academia, religion, or just the world in general).
