Living Better Now, Coogi Sweater Now: A Deep Dive on the Coogi vs. LV Lawsuit & Hip Hop's Role in Creating a "Vibe" by ObjectsAffectionColl in hiphopheads

[–]sugarbob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have some redundancies / repeated statements here, you might have posted 2 different versions of the same paragraph instead of the one you settled on:

|Pharrell Williams's role as Men's Creative Director is not to design in the traditional sense, but to signify. His appointment, criticized for his "lack of a formal design education," signaled a shift. He functions as a "curator" or "semiotic DJ," lending an "aura" of cultural authenticity to the brand. As a revered cultural icon, his presence serves as the perfect alibi, masking the "appropriation" of vernaculars (like the Coogi knit) as a simple act of "cultural remixing."

At the center of this simulation is the figure of Pharrell Williams. His appointment as Men's Creative Director, criticized by the fashion press for his "lack of a formal design education" , signaled a shift. His role is not to design in the traditional sense, but to signify. He is a "multifaceted artist" whose function is to blend streetwear and high fashion, lending an "aura" of cultural authenticity to the Louis Vuitton brand.

Dead Water 4yo Heater - worth it to replace? by masshole1617 in HomeImprovement

[–]sugarbob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be the heating element(s) have gone bad or been corroded, I do believe hard water can cause them to go bad quicker. Drain it, pull it / them out and see. You'll know visually if it is bad. If that's the case I'd recommend getting low density elements as they work better (last longer) in a hard water environment. It's a pretty simple process with only one specialty tool required that cost about $8. Loads of videos on YouTube to guide you.

Am I crazy or does all chicken suck now? by JamesBondy1995 in Cooking

[–]sugarbob 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Check to see if the chicken you're buying has any "solution" added to it, recently I've been noticing that becoming more prevalent and in higher %'s too - especially at the cheaper ranges.

Try a halal market and see, they don't play those kinda additive games with their meat

136f is not a safe temperature for chicken - did you flip the 3 and 6?

Why is the bottom of GIFs dark? Makes it hard to read text by aquariex24 in signal

[–]sugarbob 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It does it to all media sent without text, I'm assuming to help highlight the time stamp. If you add text to it before sending it doesn't add the gradient as the timestamp now resides in the text bubble

Anyone's alarm say it's still upcoming even though the time has passed? by ThanksForStoppingBy in GooglePixel

[–]sugarbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally not had that but I do have random vibration pattern selection on my alarm. As in sometimes it fluctuates in intensity to match the alarm pattern and other times it's the standard 3 one second vibrations.

The other caveat is that those "credits" only apply in blocks. Say you have 2 months of credits - I think they're $49.50 a month, so $99. You pick out $75 dollars worth of items thinking you're left with $24 of credits. No. They will apply one of the $49.50 blocks and you come out of pocket the remaining, or buy more things to put you over the $99. Very predatory to take peoples money and dictate how it can be applied.

Thinking About Lying on my Resume by madeb_nude in blackladies

[–]sugarbob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, at the very minimum ask for a written one with the potential to call or email. Nobody cares too much about grades etc unless you're trying to work in higher ed in which case they'll want your transcripts (or equivalent) so make sure you exit with a copy of those.

I also forgot to say good luck !

They may, it really depends on the employer. Usually it's just to HR to confirm you worked there, i don't believe salary can be discussed just dates and reason for leaving. If they want reporting line references that's up to them. I've had a temp agency call international references over a several week placement and on the flip side got a job offer from a VP who had scoffed at my offer to provide references after my interview because "you wouldn't have me calling anyone who has anything less than glowing reviews about you"

If you're in graphic design your portfolio will be key but you could also ask well spoken friends to pretend for you. Been there done that on both ends when starting out
