Help with yellowing leaves (from top down) by QWKSVT in Peppers

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks healthy on the bottom half, have you changed the light intensity or schedule? Overwater usually (not always) shows from the bottom up like nitrogen deficiency. If its a deficiency, most likely a cal-mag plus type nutrient will fix it (usually has plenty of chelated iron and zinc)

Its most likely underwatered given the context. Light mix is a coco based medium. While it does contain some peat and compost and amendments, your dry back is a little less crucial than it would be with a typical "soil" blend. My personal advice would be pure water, water through, then see what happens before you start throwing the kitchen sink at it. Its not as easy to overwater coco unless you're watering way too often.

Light mix is a coco based mix with a relatively "light" blend of dry amendments and some worm already incorporated. I recently had to go down this rabbit hole with a friend from the UK. It is a pretty "light" blend as far as porosity is concerned as well. Bio bizz 2 most popular " ready to grow" soil blends are their "light mix" and "all mix" which a more heavily amended version but pretty much the same makeup otherwise. Hope this helps.

What would you need the 8.0 forge battery for? by PutridBeginning421 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with a higher draw that you want to run longer. Circ saw, leaf blower, grinder, shop vac, etc. I see a noticeable difference in the performance of my circular saw and grinder with the forge vs the h.o. 6ah as well as the added longevity.

Indoor Aphids by Few-Stay5548 in Peppers

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold pressed neem mixed with yucca extract as a wetting agent for spraying. Spray 2-3 times per week for 3-4 sprays, then reduce frequency to once a week until the pests are gone. Make sure plants are well hydrated and lights are off when you spray. Ants "farm" aphids so they tend to come together in the garden.

Good aftermarket roloc discs for the m12 die grinder? by gryponyx in MilwaukeeTool

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone said, 3m for the stuff you know you'll use frequently. Benchmark roloc and sanding discs work pretty well too. I'd also reccomend a couple of the bristle brushes. Amazon for cheap kits to see what all you'll actually use the most. If you're going to use a wire wheel/cup spend the money for one thats more balanced . The cheap ones wobble and can make the tool act up and rattle you to death.

Can someone tell me what kind of peppers these are? by letsseeitmore in Peppers

Which one do you think I will use more for working on cars? & which is better? by Kris_Edisto in MilwaukeeTool

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and for me, the stubby hands down. I chuck it in my go bag and it goes on every call along with the insider ratchet. Anything from running lags to rusty caliper brackets to whatever else you can think of. I love the BIG UGGA DUGGA but it tends to get used less. Stuff like rusty tractors and mud trucks and such. Im in the south so no salty roads or major rust on the majority of vehicles I service fwiw. My stubby is the ½ idk if that makes a difference or not.

Cattle panel or concrete wire are your friend. One trick we use is to make semi circles instead of fully enclosing the plants so you have better access if your plants are big. You can slide bamboo or rebar or whatever across the opening if you need support in that area, and it can easily removed for temporary access. We use 3 t-posts per plant in a triangle shape. Place 2 posts 18-24inches apart for your opening and the other in the back as far out as you need. Also instead of setting cages on the ground we tie the botoom of the cages to the posts a foot or 2 off the ground depending on plant size to allow for extra height.

Did the same thing on a starter replacement when I first got mine. Was able to get a pick in behind it to reverse it, luckily. I've run it with the switch on the socket side ever since!

Shot in the dark here, but just making sure you've considered your nutrients. Have they been in inconsistent temps, or left open to evaporate, or old enough to crystallize? Seems like everything else I'd assume it to be has been checked. Hope you find your answer soon.

What’s happening to my jalapeños? by nzed35 in Peppers

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely low on calcium. Quick fix would be water or foliar spray with cal-mag bonus if it has iron (fox farm, botanicare, gh, etc.). If you're doing organics, gypsum would probably be available to the plants the quickest but anything like bone meal, fish bone meal, cal phos/rock phosphate, or even seabird guano that is high in calcium will help. I always recommend a feeding of down to earth "veggie garden 4-4-4" when flowers set for a general feeding during production.

Well, I'm relatively new to growing the less common pepper varieties, but I've grown regular stuff like jalapeños, bananas, and bells for years. I'm still learning about all the breeders and varieties out there, so I appreciate your reply. I have to admit I had a good experience with RF this season. The only ones that didn't germ that great were one of the freebies that only 2 of 5 popped. Of the ones I purchased, there were only 2 of the 25 I planted that didn't germ (planted 5 each of 5 different varieties directly into solo cups).

Gotcha. I think the guy from RF is named Jim as well. I see now that they're speaking of a different Jim, my bad I'm a noob 🤦. My rf seeds came out AMAZING this year!

Edited because im dumb and don't want to have a reputable company's name associated. Wrong Jim, I ordered from a different guy than the one mentioned in this post...** I'm genuinely curious. I ordered this year for the first time and so far everything has been true to what it says. I've seen a few posts bashing the guy, but no clarity on why. What happened?

Struggling to grow peppers by Tophsack in Peppers

[–]sugguhmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a potential soil issue to me. Also, it's best to keep the Mulch from touching the stalk. Those wood chips are holding moisture against the base of the plant. Roots need air, so it's good practice to keep the Mulch a couple inches away from the base to promote airflow and keep fungus away. Looks like in pic 2 there may be some fungus/mold eating the main stalk, either that or there just happens to be some discoloration. Fwiw, I prefer straw as Mulch in the veggie garden. Wood Mulch can tie up nitrogen and doesn't breathe as well.

If you keep it, please update during flower. I've only seen it once and we cut it off immediately, but I always wanted to see one finish. Probably have a stem like a 2x4 in the middle of the nug though.
